Getting Cricky Flashback Post - Time to Read

Happy Thursday, everyone!! I hope you are having a great week!! It's my turn for another Flashback post at Getting Cricky :)

I chose this card from last November because I just love the image of the little girl reading (and the MME papers)!! (Click HERE to see the original post with project details.) As a writer, and an avid reader, this card speaks to me :) And I just love the sentiment...since books are made from a lot of paper, I thought it was fitting!! It's from K Andrew Designs Crafty Friends stamp set:

Head on over to Getting Cricky to see the awesome flashback projects my Design Team sisters have chosen to revisit!! Thanks so much for stopping by today :)

Time 2 Read!!

Happy Thursday, everyone!! I hope you are having a great week :) I have a card to enter into a couple of challenges today. The first is Cooking With Cricut and the challenge is Dr. Seuss or a reading themed project. I sadly have nothing Dr. Seuss-related so I went for a reading theme. The second is Frosted Designs and the challenge is to use numbers.

I couldn't wait to use my new Spellbinders Book Pages dies that I won from Shirl at Creations By Shirl!! I absolutely love them...thanks again, Shirl!! The red, white and black paper is from The Paper Studio and the pretty flowered paper is from DCWV...I picked it up as an individual sheet and I wish I had grabbed a few more. It's thick and has a nice texture and the design is so beautiful :) I stitched it to the red cardstock. The clock is a Tim Holtz die and I cut the girl reading a book from A Child's Year three times and attached each layer with foam tape for dimension. (Hum...I used Cricut, Spellbinders and Tim Holtz dies on this card...I should have pulled out a Sizzex die and covered all the bases ;)

I cut "time2read" from Base Camp, and welded the letters together with my Gypsy. I attached the words with foam tape and added a double layer under the "2".

I've used this stamp before on a card about reading...I think it is the perfect sentiment for books since they are made from lots of paper :) It's from K Andrew Designs Crafty Friends stamp set:

Click HERE to purchase your own set or to see her entire line of stamps.

The border along the bottom is a Spellbinders Floral Doily Accents die and I added rhinestones, ribbon and a button from my stash.

My blogaversary is only five days away, so be sure you stop back by...I will have candy!! Have a great day :)

Getting Cricky With It Surprise Blog Hop!!

For My Decorate To Celebrate Post, Click HERE

Welcome to the “Getting Cricky With It”
Surprise Blog Hop for Kristal!!

Today the Design Team is bringing you some very special projects created for our wonderful and amazing leader Kristal! Our term is almost over and we wanted to show her just how much we appreciate ALL that she has done for us. The projects that we will be sharing with you will also be sent to Kristal. We encourage ALL of her fans to join in on the fun as well! Be sure to add your card/project to the link below and then be sure to mail it off to her!

If you've hopped along from Vero then you are in the right place!! If you are just joining me from your dashboard, or reading this via email, please be sure to CLICK HERE to start at the beginning with Kristal's blog (you'll want to catch up on all the FUN!!)...

Each of Kristal's stamp sets benefit charity. At least $1 per stamp set goes to benefit the charity noted on the stamp set package. Kristal is donating to the following charities: Cancer Angels, Storefront Shelter for Homeless Children, Intrepid & Fallen Heroes, E. Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, Doorways Shelter for Women & Children (Domestic Violence), Wayside House for Women, Camp Good Days & Special Times, Adopt a Classroom, and Autism Research Institute. Kristal will donate $1 for every stamp set sold, retail or wholesale to the charity noted; and over time believes this will add up to some wonderful miracles for these special people. So you can feel good that each time you purchase a K Andrew Designs art stamp set, someone around the country is receiving some good help!

K Andrew's stamps are all made and assembled here in the USA, which is very important to Kristal. This ensures all product materials are safe and that jobs are being provided and maintained here in America. You can learn even more about Kristal's stamps (and pick some up for yourself) by visiting her online store: K Andrew Designs.

I am so honored to be a part of Kristal's design team!! To thank her for her amazing generosity and all she has done for us, I have created a wall hanging for her :)

For my regular followers, you might remember that I got a great deal on a set of 10 canvases in January. This is project #3 of 10 :) I used Mod Podge to adhere the paper to the canvas. I picked up this sheet as a single and have no idea who made it (HOTP, maybe??). It has natural fibers in it...so pretty!

The letters are from Base Camp, and I cut them out on grunge paper and then dabbed on Snow Cap Adirondack Paint. Once they dried, I sanded them for a whitewash look popped them up with foam tape and added gems.

I cut the owl from Kate's ABC's and snipped off the branch so I could add a real one, painted white. I painted a piece of corrugated cardboard with Snow Cap paint and then sanded it off when it dried. All of the flowers are from Flower Shoppe in various sizes. The crystal design was created with a pattern for my iRock and I added individual gems to the branches for sparkle :)

I punched circles from My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Market Street paper and used them for "feathers".

The tag is a Spellbinders Nestability Label 10. I used Tim Holtz Victorian Velvet Distress Ink to ink the edges and for the sentiment from Crafty Friends:

I also made a card for Kristal:

The labels are Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels 10. I used Swiss Dots on the larger one. I inked all of the edges with Victorian Velvet. The butterflies are from Picturesque and the lace is from Really Reasonable Ribbon. "My Crafty Friend" is from Crafty Friends.

For the inside, I used the frame and "thanks" from Merci:

Decorate To Celebrate Challenge #19 - All About Boys!!

Hi everyone and happy Wednesday!! It's time for another super-fun challenge at Decorate to Celebrate!! The theme is week is All About Boys - we are asking you to create any project to be used as a party decoration (or party supply) for a boy party (remember to use BLUE!!)!! Let's celebrate everything wonderful about the sweet little boys in our lives with your table decorations, party banners, pennants, yard signs, cupcakes, party favors and more!!

For my boy party decorations, I created a race party theme :) Indiana - Indianapolis specifically - is the racing capital of the world and the Indianapolis 500 is known as the Greatest Spectacle in Racing!! I was born and raised in Indiana and for a couple of years I even lived in Indy, just a few short miles from the Speedway. I then moved to New York for several years but came back to Indiana...it's home :)

When I decided on a racing theme - with the inaugural Krafty Girls Home Sweet Home challenge in mind - I came to the sad realization that I have no checkered paper!! So I had to create my own :) I used my Gypsy to make a checkered pattern and cut it out on plastic from a Cricut clamshell. I then used it as a stencil and dabbed Snow Cap Adirondack paint on black paper.

The blue ribbon is from Something to Celebrate and I attached all of the layers with foam tape for dimension. The number 1 is from K Andrew Designs Crafty Friends stamp set and "you're awesome" is from Food For Thought.

I also came to the realization that I have over 100 cartridges and not one image of a race car!! How sad!! This was the closest I could come to one...it's from Paper Doll Dress Up. The number 20 and the stars are also from Crafty Friends.

The winner's cup is also from Something to Celebrate. The number one is from Crafty Friends and smile is from Food For Thought:

Click HERE to purchase your own sets or to see the entire line of K Andrew Designs stamps!!

The goodie box (I don't have a close up) is from Spring Holiday Cards and Happy Birthday on the front is from K Andrew Designs Fall-O-Ween and Coffee & Tea For You & Me sets respectively.

I made pit passes which could serve as invites to the party. Each child's name would be written on the front.

Now it's your turn!! Head on over to Decorate to Celebrate and link up your Boy's Party Decorations (and don't forget to use blue!!) I can't wait to see what you create :)

Getting Cricky Promo Week - Day 3!

Hi, everyone and Happy Valentine's Day!! Today is Day 3 of Getting Cricky Promotional Week!! If you have been following along the last couple of days, you know that several members of the Getting Cricky Design Team will be featuring a new project every day this week leading up to our monthly blog hop on Friday, using a cartridge we haven't used in at least three months. My cart is Wall Decor and More :)

I planned my weekly projects out poorly...I should have had yesterday's Valentine card for today. Oh well...too late now :) The paper for today's card is from DCWV's Hippie Chic stack. I cut the canister of paintbrushes two times so the brushes would be a different paper pattern.

I added Spiced Marmalade Stickles to the tips of the brushes and I attached them with foam tape for dimension. I used a star punch and added a few around the page with pop dots and rhinestones.

I cut around the flower and attached it with foam tape. "What a bunch of craft" and "Ready, set...scrap" are both from K Andrew Designs Crafty Friends stamp set:

Aren't these sentiments fun??!! Click HERE to purchase your own or to see the entire line of K Andrew Designs stamps.
