Decorate to Celebrate #64 - Thanksgiving/Fall

Happy Wednesday, everyone!! I hope you are having a great week!! We actually had a light dusting of snow Monday night. Ugh. Thankfully, it didn't stay on the ground long. But it's supposed to get down to 18 tonight. It seems too early to be this cold already. I hope that doesn't mean a long, cold winter :/

It's time for another challenge at Decorate to Celebrate. The theme this week is Thanksgiving/Fall Part 2. Let's celebrate everything wonderful about turkeys, pilgrims, family, being thankful and more with your table decorations, party banners, pennants, yard signs, cupcakes, party favors and more :)

For my Thanksgiving table, I had to create Tim Holtz' Quirky Turkeys from last year!! I just love them and couldn't wait to make them this Thanksgiving season :)

I followed Tim's instructions, including printing out the template for the turkey body. I made the wire holders from 20 gage wire. The tickets are Spellbinders Labels and Tags dies. Both sentiments are from K Andrew Design's Fall-o-ween stamp set.

I am entering these in the following challenges:
  1. Craft It Up & Link It Up - Thanskgiving
  2. Little Scrap Pieces - Anything Goes
  3. DL.Art - November Linky
  4. Funday Friday Challenge - Things With Wings
  5. Sunday Funday - November Linky
  6. Just B Creative Crazy - November Linky

Funny that I was posting my turkey project and I look out the window and see this!! There were actually eight of them...one is hidden behind the tree. Their coloring is so beautiful, isn't it??!!

Now it's your turn!! Head on over to Decorate to Celebrate to see the amazing projects my talented design team sisters have created for today's challenge. Then link up your Thanksgiving/Fall project...I can't wait to see what you create :)

Decorate to Celebrate #40 - Christmas Party

Happy 12/12/12!! I hope you are having a great week :) It's time for another fun challenge at Decorate to Celebrate!! For Challenge #40, we are asking you to create any project to be used as a party decoration (or party supply) for a Christmas Party. Let's celebrate everything wonderful about mistletoe, holly and the Nativity with your table decorations, party banners, pennants, yard signs, cupcakes, party favors and more :)

For my Christmas Party, I created gift card holders.

The gift card holder is a Tim Holtz Pocket Envelope Punch.  The papers are from My Mind's Eye.

A strip of burlap was attached to the front, and then a Spellbinders Nested Pennant Die was stamped with "Christmas Wishes" from JustRite's Deck The Halls stamp set. It was inked with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The believe charm is from Tim Holtz Idea-ology Philosophy Tags and the hemp fiber is from Michaels.

For the second gift card holder, a Spellbinders Nested Pennant Die was inked with Fired Brick Distress Ink. No Peeking is from K Andrew Designs Winter Wishes stamp set. The 25 is from Tim Holtz Idea-ology Numerals and the crinkle ribbon is from Karen of Little Scrap Pieces.

Red Carpet Studio Guest Designer

Happy Sunday!! I hope all my American friends had a very happy Thanksgiving!! I've been so busy this week, I've neglected my blog. I haven't had a chance to do much crafting, posting or visiting. It's going to be busy up until Christmas, but I hope to be able to sneak in my craft room for a few projects :)

I'm so excited and honored to be the guest Designer this month at Red Carpet Studio!! I love this week's challenge...it is inspired by film noir and old black and white films. So the challenge is to create a black and white card.

The sponsor is Eureka Stamps and they will provide the winner with their choice of 5 digital stamps!!

For my film noir-inspired card, I used paper is from 7 Gypsies Paddington paper stock. The ticket strip is a Tim Holtz die, stamped with a TH City Central ticket stamp. The edges were inked with Black Soot Distress Ink. The middle squares were cut with Spellbinders Card Creators Matting Basics A & B. Admit One was also cut with Matting Basics A & B, and the sentiment is from the TH Steampunk stamp set.

The filmstrip is a Spellbinders Snapshot die. The male images are from the TH Steampunk stamp set. The female images are from Hampton Arts Royal Affair stamp set. After the images were affixed to the strip, it was covered in Rock Candy Crackle Paint. Once the paint dried and cracked, it was sponged with Black Soot to give it an aged, worn film look.

The sentiment label was cut from Spellbinders Card Creator Matting Basics A&B. The sentiment is a TH Stuff to Say stamp. The edges were inked with Black Soot.

I am entering the card in the following challenges:
  1. Little Scrap Pieces Fun Friday Challenge - Use Black
  2. DL.Art Thankful Thursday Challenge - Anything Goes
  3. Sunday Funday #3 - Linky Party

Decorate to Celebrate #30 - Anniversary, Wedding, Engagement

Happy Wednesday, everyone!! It's time for another super-fun challenge at Decorate to Celebrate!! For Challenge #30, we are asking you to create any project to be used as a party decoration (or party supply) for an ANNIVERSARY, WEDDING OR ENGAGEMENT!! Let's celebrate everything wonderful about being in love with your table decorations, party banners, pennants, yard signs, cupcakes, party favors and more!! :)

For my anniversary, wedding, engagement decorations, I made a decorative wall hanging for the happy couple!! For those of you that remember back in January, I got a deal at Michaels on ten canvases. This is project four of ten. To prep the canvas, Mod Podge was used to adhere an old music sheet, and when it dried, paint was applied in white, burnt umber and pink with a baby wipe. The Eiffel Tower was cut from Wall Decor and More in Grunge Paper, and then inked with Worn Lipstick and embossed with two coats of Ultra Thick Clear Utee Embossing Enamel, and attached with foam tape. The letters were cut from Base Camp on Grunge Paper, inked with Worn Lipstick, stamped with a music note stamp and covered with Glossy Accents.

The flowers are Spellbinders Spiral Blossom one dies, cut in Eco-friendly felt and then inked with Worn Lipstick, Tea Dye and Tattered Rose Distress Ink, with tulle in between.

The clock is a Tim Holtz die cut twice, once in black for the shadow. The hearts are from George and Basic Shapes, and welded together on the Gypsy. Foam tape was used for dimension. The paper is DCWV. "Kisses" and "I love you" are from K Andrew Designs Owly Hoo stamp set:

When One Door Closes, Look For The Open Window

Happy Friday, everyone!! Yay, the weekend is here!! I hope you have fun plans!! It's supposed to be sunny and high 50's tomorrow so I hope to be able to enjoy the outdoors :)

I have a card to enter into a few challenges today. All of the paper is from the Tim Holtz Idea-ology Kraft Resist stack, except for the black background paper, and it's from my stash. I wrapped the black paper with tulle for texture.

I used the largest Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Square and the second largest Classic Square and sewed them together. The edges of the square are inked with Walnut Distress ink. The squares are attached to the black paper with foam tape for dimension. The bird is a Tim Holtz die, also attached with foam tape. I added a black rhinestone for his eye, and one at each corner of the Fleur de Lis Square.

The flowers are from Flower Shoppe, cut at 2". I hand cut the leaves. Both strips of tan lace are from Hobby Lobby.

The label is a Spellbinders Grommet Tag. I inked it with Walnut Distress Ink and attached it with foam tape and brads. "When one door closes look for the open window" is from K Andrew Designs Sympathetic Sayings stamp set:

Time 2 Read!!

Happy Thursday, everyone!! I hope you are having a great week :) I have a card to enter into a couple of challenges today. The first is Cooking With Cricut and the challenge is Dr. Seuss or a reading themed project. I sadly have nothing Dr. Seuss-related so I went for a reading theme. The second is Frosted Designs and the challenge is to use numbers.

I couldn't wait to use my new Spellbinders Book Pages dies that I won from Shirl at Creations By Shirl!! I absolutely love them...thanks again, Shirl!! The red, white and black paper is from The Paper Studio and the pretty flowered paper is from DCWV...I picked it up as an individual sheet and I wish I had grabbed a few more. It's thick and has a nice texture and the design is so beautiful :) I stitched it to the red cardstock. The clock is a Tim Holtz die and I cut the girl reading a book from A Child's Year three times and attached each layer with foam tape for dimension. (Hum...I used Cricut, Spellbinders and Tim Holtz dies on this card...I should have pulled out a Sizzex die and covered all the bases ;)

I cut "time2read" from Base Camp, and welded the letters together with my Gypsy. I attached the words with foam tape and added a double layer under the "2".

I've used this stamp before on a card about reading...I think it is the perfect sentiment for books since they are made from lots of paper :) It's from K Andrew Designs Crafty Friends stamp set:

Click HERE to purchase your own set or to see her entire line of stamps.

The border along the bottom is a Spellbinders Floral Doily Accents die and I added rhinestones, ribbon and a button from my stash.

My blogaversary is only five days away, so be sure you stop back by...I will have candy!! Have a great day :)
