Happy 4th of July!!

Happy, happy birthday USA and happy, happy 4th of July to all of my American friends!! I hope you have a wonderful holiday filled with family, food, fireworks and fun!! Stay safe!! I will be attending a small family bbq so I won't be around much this weekend. I'll check in with you when I can :)

One of my crafty goals each year is to enter Tim Holtz's Tags challenges as often as I can, and though I try each month, I don't always make it. I was able to sneak in some time in the craft room to complete a tag for the July Challenge - I was excited that I had most of the products to work with :) I pretty much followed Tim's Instructions HERE. I didn't have the new Hickory Smoke Distress Ink, so I used Pumice Stone instead. And my Black Soot Distress Marker didn't want to work with the spritzer, so I used Walnut. The 4 is from Tim's Inside Out die, cut with silver foil. I also stitched with white thread instead of black because I was too lazy to change the thread on my machine ;)

I am entering this in the following challenges:

1. Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2015 - July
2. My Sheri Crafts - Happy 4th of July
3. DL.ART - July Linky
4. DL.ART - Thankful Thursday - Red, White & Blue
5. Little Scrap Pieces - Show it It Off Saturday
6. Jo's Scrap Shack Funday Friday #95 - Anything Goes
7. 3 Girl Jam July Challenge - Anything Goes w/Ribbon

God Bless America!! Thanks so much for stopping by :)

Scrapy Land Blog Challenge #21 - Anything Goes

Happy Wednesday and happy first day of July!! Wow, this year is speeding by...Christmas will be here before we know it!! It's time for another fun challenge at Scrapy Land and it's everyone's favorite - Anything Goes using a brand of die that Scrapy Land carries (there are over 40 to choose from!!)

I created two summer-inspired cards using papers from Prima's Bella Rouge stack, the edges distressed with a Zutter DIA. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

The design is the same for both cards. I used a stitched scalloped border die from the Spellbinders Curved Border die set to divide the paper. The birdhouse and vine are from Frantic Stamper's Garden Birdhouse set. The fence, which I curved around the post, is a Memory Box Rounded Fence die. The birds are Memory Box Resting Birds dies, and they were covered in sugar coating.

Beneath the flowers are Memory Box Botanical Stems and Memory Box Chloe Stems. The sentiment banner is a Taylored Expressions Stacked Banner Stacklets 1 die. And on the inside, I used a Memory Box Stitched Square die.

I am entering these in the following challenges:

1. DL.Art - July Linky
2. Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Summer
3. Little Scrap Pieces Show It Off Saturday - Anything Goes
4. Pause Dream Enjoy Linky Party - Anything Goes

Now it's your turn!! Head on over to Scrapy Land to see the amazing projects my design team sisters and our guest designers have created for today's challenge!! Then link up your project using a brand of die that Scrapy Land carries!! I can't wait to see what you create :)

Hooray for the Red, White & Blue!!

Happy Monday!! I hope you had a wonderful last weekend in June!! It's my turn to post on the Die-Versions blog and and since we will be celebrating Independence Day in the USA on Saturday, I've created a couple of cards using the new Whispers Statue of Liberty die from the June release for the occasion :)

The Whispers Statue of Liberty is one of my all-time favorite dies (I seem to say that about all of the dies, but it's true!!) I remember the first time I saw the Statue of Liberty in person...I was ten years old on a family vacation. I was blown away!! She was so massive and beautiful and I was mesmerized :)

I cut the Statue of Liberty three times, once in red, white and blue. I only adhered the bases together so that the stars would look like fireworks shooting off the card. I added the stars that were cut from the die to one corner. The "4" is a Downhill Font die and "th" is A Little Mint Font die.  I cut the Statue of Liberty one more time in white and then added the stars to the bottom. The sentiment is from an old K Andrew Designs Sweet July stamp set.

And another version of the Statue of Liberty on star paper. I covered her in Moonrise Glitter Tinsel from Sparkle and Sprinkle and oh my, the sparkle is amazing!! You can see it better here...

One Nation Under God

Happy Tuesday!! I hope you are having a wonderful week!! I want to sincerely thank those of you who suggested using Benedryl for my poison outbreak. It totally works on the itching. More spots keep popping up and I look like I'm molting or something, but at least I'm not itching as much anymore :) It's my turn to post on the Die-Versions blog and I have a patriotic card to share with you today.

The new USA Whispers die is one of my all-time favorites and with the Fourth of July just around the corner, I couldn't wait to create a project with it. It is currently sold out but should be back in stock soon. I popped it up with foam tape for dimension and used patriotic papers from Bo Bunny. I've hoarded this paper for two years and I am just about out :( The edges were distressed with a Zutter DIA.

The pull-out tag is a Stars Tag die. Both sentiments are from an old K Andrew Designs stamp set.

I used a Wee Petites Super Stars die for the center of the bow.

And I added some Super Stars to the inside as well.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

1. DL.Art - June Linky
2. Little Scrap Pieces - Show it Off Saturday
3. Craftin Desert Divas Craft It Up & Link It Up - July 4th

Thanks so much for stopping by :)
