Just For You

Happy Monday!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!! The weather was perfect here...sunny, high 70's. I was able to keep the windows open all weekend :) It's time for another fun challenge at Craftin Desert Divas!! It's a fun one this week - we want you to use your Favorite Color on your project!! For my card, I used my favorite color - pink :) I also used papers from my favorite paper company - Prima. These are from the Lyric stack. And I used my favorite crafting tool - a Zutter DIA to distress the edges.

The branch is a Spellbinders Cherry Blossom die. The centers were inked with Tim Holtz Victorian Velvet Distress Ink. The bird is a Die-Versions Crow die and it was cut twice, once in black for a shadow effect. It was covered with Doodlebug Designs Sugar Coating, as was the Memory Box Darla Butterfly. The flowers are a mixture of Prima and The Paper Studio. Tulle was tucked among the blooms, as was twisted copper wire. Spellbinders D-Lites Corner Sprigs were cut in vellum and added as well. The gorgeous crinkle ribbon is from my sweet friend Karen of Little Scrap Pieces. The button is a Die-Versions Wee Petites Button die.

For my fun fold card, I created what I think is called a Tri-Shutter card or something like that. I made this card a few months ago and I found the directions on a blog. I thought I would be able to find it again when it was time to do my post and I can't. I've looked and looked. So I apologize...someone went to a whole lot of trouble making a tutorial and I can't give them proper credit :(

The papers are from Heartfelt Creations Balmy Breeze Collection. I created this card for my Dad who loves lighthouses and the ocean. The palm trees are Taylored Expressions Ride the Waves, colored with Distress Markers. The chair is a Die-Versions Adirondack Whispers die. Dad is from CDD's Snips & Snails stamp set...I masked off the "dy" in Daddy. Life's A Beach is from CDD's Summer Lovin' stamp set. Happy Birthday is from CDD's Simply Said stamp set.

Always & Forever Die-Versions Post

Happy Friday, everyone!! Woohoo - the weekend is here!! It's my turn to post on the Die-Versions blog and I would love for you to stop by and say Hi :)

For my project today, I used the new Die-Versions Whispers Wedding Dress die from the May Wedding Bells and Father's Day release. The papers are heavyweight white cardstock from Canvas Corp., and Prima Princess paper stack. The edges were distressed with a Zutter DIA.

Isn't the dress gorgeous??!! It was cut in gorgeous Retro Silver Lustre paper from The Paper Temptress. The picture doesn't do justice to the shiny finish. The dress was then cut in black for a shadow and pink vellum was added behind. Crystal gems were adorned to the front and it was popped up with foam tape for dimension. The dress was framed with a Prima Shabby Chic Treasures Baroque Frame (love it!!). A Die-Versions Ring of Hearts die is peeking out from the side. It was also adorned with crystals. The flowers are from Prima and a Die-Versions Daisy Flair die was cut in vellum and tucked among the blooms. A Die-Versions Wee Petite Button die was added to the center of the bow.

Always and Forever is from Craftin Desert Divas' Simply Said stamp set. It was heat embossed with Recollections Snow embossing powder.

Scrapping4fun Challenges Guest Designer

Hi everyone!! I'm so excited to be a guest designer today at Scrappin4funChallenges!! Thank you Rachelle for having me!! The theme for Challenge #17 is a fun one!! It's a technique challenge...masking, embossing, watercolor, tearing, weaving, quilling, folding, layering, collage, etc...

I chose to use several techniques for this card: stenciling with embossing paste and a stencil; embossing; inking and distressing.

The paper is from Authentique. The edges were distressed with a Zutter DIA and then inked with Tim Holtz Victorian Velvet Distress Ink. The banners are Taylored Expressions Banner Stacklets dies. A Tim Holtz Doily stencil was placed over the top banner and Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste was used through the stencil. Once the paste dried, TH Distress Inks in Spun Sugar and Victorian Velvet were sponged over the design and then wiped off the embossing paste with a baby wipe.

A Spellbinders Standard Circles Small was cut with heavyweight cardstock and then embossed with a Cuttlebug Script Embossing folder. The beautiful butterfly is a Memory Box die and it was covered with Doodlebug Designs Sugar Coating. The banner is a Spellbinders Ribbon Banners die. It was inked with TH Victorian Velvet. Heartfelt Thanks is from the Craftin Desert Divas Simply Said stamp set. The gems are Prima Say It In Crystals.

The inside was decorated to resemble the front of the card. So Grateful is also from CDD's Simply Said stamp set.

Happy Wednesday!! I hope you are having a wonderful week!! We are halfway to the weekend already!! Woohoo!! It's my turn to post on the Craftin Desert Divas blog and I have a Thanks card to share with you today :)

For me, this is pretty CAS!! You know I love layers ;) The base and white paper are heavyweight cardstock from Canvas Corp. The patterned paper is from Prima. The edges were distressed with a Zutter DIA.

I just love these circles. I fell in love with them from Memory Box. They have three similar sets. This one is Large Ringlets. The butterflies are Memory Box also and they were popped up with foam tape.

Craft It Up & Link It Up - Mother's Day

Happy Monday!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!! Spring is definitely here - I saw my first hummingbird of the season on Friday :) It's time for a Craft It Up & Link It Up Challenge at Craftin Desert Divas. Our theme is Mother's Day...we want to see your projects celebrating Moms. I am using stamps from two of the sets for my project today...a card I created for my amazing Mom :) The papers are from Prima's Princess Paper Stack. The edges were distressed with a Zutter DIA (I warned you I was addicted to this machine!!) The back layer is a Spellbinders Decorative Labels Eight. The circles are Memory Box Large Ringlets Die...love this one!! The next layer is a Spellbinders Captivating Square with a Classic Square Large die used for the cutout. The corner gems are Prima's Say It In Crystals.

The flowers are a mixture of The Paper Studio and Wild Orchid Crafts. Memory Box Floral Vines were cut in vellum and tucked amongst the flowers. Copper wire was twisted and also added. The butterflies are Memory Box dies and they were covered with Doodlebug Design Sugar Coating and popped up with foam tape.

The tag is a Lil' Inker Designs Stitched Flag die. Love You is from the new Simply Said stamp set (I masked off "More") and Mom is from the new Sugar & Spice stamp set (I masked off the "my"). The button in the center of the ribbon is a Die-Versions Buttons Wee Petite die.

I created a birthday card for a dear friend :) The patterned papers are from Prima's Fairy Rhymes paper stack. The solid cardstock is from Tim Holtz. The edges were distressed with a Zutter Distress-It-All.

A Die-Versions Loopy Lace Whispers Die was used around the top and bottom edges of the center panel. A Tim Holtz Ribbon Flag die was used for the bottom banners. They were adorned with Prima Say It In Crystals.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The Sweet light bulb is a Prima Junkyard Findings Small Typo Bulb. Spellbinders D-Lites Corner Sprigs were cut with vellum and tucked among the flowers. The ribbon is from May Arts. The tag is a Spellbinders Charmed I'm Sure Die. Wish Big is from the new Simply Said Stamp Set.

 

A Spellbinders Labels Seventeen Die was used on the inside. Happy Birthday is also from the Simply Said Stamp Set.

Craftin Desert Divas April Release Day 2!!

Welcome to the Craftin Desert Diva's April 2014 Stamp Release Week!!

Are you ready to get the sneak peeks started? I am!!

This is Day 2 of 4 of the April stamp release party!! Each day we will be giving you a sneak peek at one of the four new stamp sets. Then, on Saturday and Sunday, we will have a blog hop with prizes each day. The design team has some amazing creations to start this stamp release party.

Today we are showcasing the Simply Said stamp set. All of the new stamps are 4x6 and Made in the USA. Stamps will be available to order on Sunday.

We have a new Craftin Desert Divas Shop and a Craftin Desert Divas Gallery Facebook group.We would love for you to join us and share your creations with us using Craftin Desert Diva's stamps. In this group we show previews first, have giveaways and much more!!

Here's my project:

For my card, I used papers from Prima's Princess paper stack. The base is a Spellbinders Grand Scalloped circle, followed by two Grand Circles.

The next layer is a Xcut Doily die adorned with crystal gems. A Die-Versions Lucky Scallop Die that was popped up with foam tape for dimension. A Memory Box Butterfly die was cut in the center of the scallop and then cut again in different paper and popped inside.

The tag is a Lil' Inker Designs Stitched Flag die. Just Because is from the new Simply Said stamp set.
