Decorate to Celebrate #30 - Anniversary, Wedding, Engagement

Happy Wednesday, everyone!! It's time for another super-fun challenge at Decorate to Celebrate!! For Challenge #30, we are asking you to create any project to be used as a party decoration (or party supply) for an ANNIVERSARY, WEDDING OR ENGAGEMENT!! Let's celebrate everything wonderful about being in love with your table decorations, party banners, pennants, yard signs, cupcakes, party favors and more!! :)

For my anniversary, wedding, engagement decorations, I made a decorative wall hanging for the happy couple!! For those of you that remember back in January, I got a deal at Michaels on ten canvases. This is project four of ten. To prep the canvas, Mod Podge was used to adhere an old music sheet, and when it dried, paint was applied in white, burnt umber and pink with a baby wipe. The Eiffel Tower was cut from Wall Decor and More in Grunge Paper, and then inked with Worn Lipstick and embossed with two coats of Ultra Thick Clear Utee Embossing Enamel, and attached with foam tape. The letters were cut from Base Camp on Grunge Paper, inked with Worn Lipstick, stamped with a music note stamp and covered with Glossy Accents.

The flowers are Spellbinders Spiral Blossom one dies, cut in Eco-friendly felt and then inked with Worn Lipstick, Tea Dye and Tattered Rose Distress Ink, with tulle in between.

The clock is a Tim Holtz die cut twice, once in black for the shadow. The hearts are from George and Basic Shapes, and welded together on the Gypsy. Foam tape was used for dimension. The paper is DCWV. "Kisses" and "I love you" are from K Andrew Designs Owly Hoo stamp set:

Now it's your turn!! Head on over to Decorate to Celebrate to see the amazing projects my talented Design Team sisters have created for today's challenge!! Then link up your Anniversary, Wedding or Engagment decorations!! I can't wait to see what you create :)

Give Thanks and WINNER!!

Happy Friday, everyone!! I hope you are having a great week!! I have a winner to announce from the Wonderful Wilderness Blog Hop, but first, I have a card to enter into a few challenges :) I am trying to get this posted before a major storm hits. We are under a tornado watch until early evening.

All of the paper is from The Paper Studio Uptown Flair stack. I inked all of the edges with Tim Holtz Victorian Velvet Distress Ink. I used a Spellbinders border die for the scallop under the lace.

The label is a Spellbinders Label 10. The oval in the front is from George and Basic Shapes. I cut one of the flowers from the background paper for decoration and added crystals to the center of all the flowers.

I have no idea who the flower stamp is from. I bought them a while ago - before I started blogging. Since I keep all my clear stamps in a binder, I threw the package away. I used both Victorian Velvet and Forest Moss distress ink on the stamps. "In everything give thanks" is from K Andrew Designs Scripture Sayings stamp set:

Aren't these sentiments beautiful??!! Click HERE to purchase this set or to see the entire line of stamps!!

Happy Valentine's...I'm seeing spots :)

Happy Thursday, everyone!! I hope you are having a great week!! I have a whole bunch of projects I need to make for the next couple of weeks and for some reason, I'm procrastinating. I did manage a little bit of time in my craft room and I have a card to enter into a few challenges :)

The papers for this card are a mixture of My Mind's Eye and DCWV. The rectangles are the two largest sizes of  the Spellbinders Nestabilities Long Classic Scalloped Rectangles. I used Spellbinders Fire Isle Borderabilities on each side of the rectangle and anchored them in place with button brads and added crystals. I lightly inked the edges with Tea Dye Distress Ink.

The rosette with heart details is from Ribbons and Rosettes. I used the second smallest Spellbinders Beaded Circles die for the top of the rosette and added a heart from George and Basic Shapes. I had added Tim Holtz crackle paint in rock candy to the heart, but when it dried, it didn't look good at all. The edges cracked okay, but the inside turned white and when I tried to bend it to crack the paint, it tore in two. I didn't have time to try another, but when I give this card, the heart will have a layer of glossy accents. All of the layers are attached with foam tape.

On the paper ribbon, I attached two small hearts, also from George and Basic Shapes, with foam and lined the dots up for a subtle embossed look.

The tag is from Spellbinders Ribbon Tags Trio. "Happy Valentine's" is from K Andrew Designs It's Valentines stamp set:

There are so many great words and sentiments on here...and not just for Valentine's Day!! Click HERE to purchase this set or to see the entire fabulous line of K Andrew Designs stamps!!

I am entering the card in the following challenges:
I almost forgot...I stitched the rectangles together with my new mini-sewing machine!!

I love this thing!! I have to preface this by saying I know nothing about sewing. My mom can sew anything so you would think I would have gotten some sewing genes from her, but alas, I did not. I can hand stitch if absolutely necessary but sewing machines have always intimidated me. But I love the look of stitching on projects. I purchased the Sew Crafty machine from Provo Craft back in like 2003 but I have only used it like five times total. It was pretty cheap and worthless. So when I saw this mini, I had to try it!! It even has eight different stitches...and is it so easy to use!! If anyone wants info on the sewing machine, just let me know!!

Also,  I like taking pictures of my projects in natural light, but it isn't always feasible, especially if it is overcast or night. I planned on making my own lightbox but never got around to it. Then I saw a post from my friend Chriss at Scrappin' With Chriss and Lou about a lightbox her husband purchased for her. I was intrigued!! I looked online for it and found it on Ebay for only $29, shipping included (the seller has a bunch of these at this price, so if you are interested, let me know and I'll get you the info)!! I can set this up in my craft room quickly and snap the picture, any time day or night!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great day :)

Child's Valentine Card and WINNER!!

Hi everyone and happy Thursday!! I hope you are having a great day!! I have a winner to announce for my Cricut cartridge giveaway!! But first, I have a card to enter into a couple of challenges...and since I'm giving away a Space Party cart, I thought I'd make my card a space theme!!

The challenge this week at Cooking With Cricut is to make a Valentine card for a child and use the colors red, white and pink. All of the paper is from Core'dinations. The rocket is from Just Because Cards, and I welded the shadows together to make the base of the card. I embossed the red with Swiss Dots and the gray with a folder I have no idea what it is called. It has groups of three dots.

The cute little astronaut is from Life's A Party. I cut him at 2". He is embossed with the Sizzex Diamond embossing folder. I used my Gypsy to cut a hole in the mask so I could stamp the adorable Peachy Keen face, from the PK-754 Critter Faces set. I added a heart from George and Basic Shaes and popped it up with foam tape.

I attached the little astronaut with a homemade wobble or wiggle wire! The inspiration for this was from my dear friend Amy of Love to Crop! If you haven't seen it yet, Amy created a fabulous tutorial on how to make your own wiggle wires! Click HERE to see the tutorial! And then, after you make your own, she has a challenge going on right now on her blog...click HERE to link up your wiggle wire project!!

I used Tim Holtz Fired Brick distress ink. "I love you all the way to the moon & back" is from K Andrew Designs It's Valentines stamp set! I just love this set...there are so many great sentiments and not just for Valentine's day!! You can use this set all year long!! Aren't the lips awesome??!!
