Little Scrap Pieces Fun Friday - Here Comes Peter Cottontail

Happy Friday and happy Good Friday to all my friends who celebrate!! It's time for a Fun Friday Challenge at Little Scrap Pieces!! The theme today is Here Comes Peter Cottontail - we want you to use a bunny or make an Easter card or project :)

I meant to play along with the Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2013, but I missed getting tags done for January and February. But I did manage to make one for March.

The base is from a Prima Tag Pad...love these tags...they are large and sturdy. It was first covered  with a light layer of TH Snow Cap Paint Dabber and then TH Broken China Distress Stain. The label is a Spellbinders JustRite Nested Medallion die cut from TH Kraft Core Nostalgic cardstock. The cardstock was then brushed with a layer of the Snow Cap Paint Dabber. The bunny is from the TH Mini Blueprints 2 set, stamped with Ranger Embossing Ink and then heat embossed with silver embossing powder, The bunny was colored in with a TH Distress Marker in Spun Sugar and Broken China for the bow. Cotton was used for the tail. The grass was cut with paper from the Nostalgic cardstock with shredding scissors. The TH Idea-ology Foliage Flowers were painted with acrylic paints. TH Idea-ology Crinkle Ribbon was stained with Spun Sugar and Victorian Velvet Distress Inks, crinkled and then heat set. The ribbon at the top was colored with Broken China. The banner along the top is a TH Tattered Banner die cut with manilla cardstock that was then painted with Snow Cap Paint Dabber. "Hello Friend" is from the TH Simple Sayings stamp set.

Here's Tim's awesome March 2013 tag.

Attitude Is Everything

Click HERE to enter my 2nd Blogaversary Giveaway!!

Happy Wednesday!! I hope you are having a great week!! It's my turn to post at Getting Cricky and I have a tag to share with you today :)

I have my sweet and talented friend Diane of Nellie's Nest to thank for this tag...she got me hooked on Julie Nutting's Prima Doll stamps!! I was obsessed with finding them and they are practically impossible to find anywhere. But I finally tracked down two of them, including the one I used for this tag.

The tag is  from a Julie Nutting Prima Tag Pad. The edges were inked with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The butterfly is a Spellbinders Les Papillions die, popped up with foam tape for dimension. The ribbon is from 3 Girl Jam.

The doll was stamped onto manilla paper stamped with the script stamp from the TH Mini Ornates set in Antique Linen Distress Ink. It's hard to tell in the pics, but her cheeks were colored with pink chalk. The rest of the papers are from Basic Grey's Out of Print stack. The background note paper is a Spellbinders Office Supplies die. The flowers were fussy cut from the Basic Grey paper.

The side tag is a Spellbinders Labels and Tags die, the edges inked with Vintage Photo. "Smile", and...

"Attitude is Everything" are from K Andrew Designs Positive Thoughts stamp set. Unfortunately, this set is sold out, but there are still a few sets available for 60% off. Click HERE to visit the online store. The banner is a Spellbinders Ribbon Banner die.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

Life Isn't About Finding Yourself

Happy Monday!! What a way to wake up this morning...snow, snow, lots of snow :( But I'm not complaining...it was a great weekend!! My team is still alive in the NCAA Tourney!! Love March Madness :)

I have a quick card to share with you today. I've been wanting to use my new Dylusions Couture Collections stamps, so I pulled them out for this card. The dress and hat were stamped on Strathmore Watercolor paper, colored with Tim Holtz Barn Door and Fired Brick Distress Markers and a TH waterbrush, and then fussy cut.

The base of the card is black cardstock from The Paper Studio. The next two layers are Spellbinders Grand Labels 4, cut with heavyweight paper from Canvas Corp. The bottom layer was inked with TH Barn Door and Fired Brick Distress Inks. On the next layer, Paris from a Wendy Vecchi Art Classic Words stencil was inked with TH Embossing Ink and then heat embossed with Ranger clear embossing powder. It was then sponged with Old Paper, Tea Dye, Frayed Burlap and Walnut Distress Inks. The postcard stamp from the Tim Holtz Paris to London set was stamped in Old Paper across the background. Then the Fleur de Lis stamp was inked with Tea Dye and stamped randomly. The Eiffel Tower from the same set was stamped with Jet Black Versafine ink. The banner along the bottom is a Tim Holtz Tattered Banner die cut, inked with Old Paper, Tea Dye and Walnut Distress Inks.

A Spellbinders Card Creator Matting Basics A die was inked with Barn Door and Fired Brick, with Walnut around the edges. The sentiment is from the Tim Holtz Mini Classics stamp set.

I'm entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Simon Says Stamp and Show - Quotable
  2. DL.Art - March Linky Party
  3. Sunday Funday #7 - March Linky Party

Happy Friday!! Woohoo the weekend is here!! This is my second post of the day. For the Hoo's Ready for Spring Blog Hop, click HERE!!

It's time for a Fun Friday Challenge at Little Scrap Pieces!! The theme this week is to Use a Handmade Embellishment. It can be a flower, stick pin, crinkle ribbon or some awesome skittles like I used from my sweet friend and design team sister, Carri of Doubleclick AKA Abusybee, who is sponsoring today's challenge!!

Since it's officially spring, I wanted my project to be springy, so I chose to use flowers :) The base of the card is heavyweight cardstock from Canvas Corp, followed by black cardstock from The Paper Studio. The next layer is heavyweight watercolor paper from Strathmore. It was spritzed with water, and then Dylusions Sprays in London Blue, Calypso Teal, Vibrant Turquoise and Fresh Lime. Charcoal was smudged along the edges.

The script stamp from the Tim Holtz Mini Ornates stamp set was randomly stamped with TH Broken China Distress Ink. The flowers are from the Dylusions How Does Your Garden Grow stamp set. They were stamped with Ranger Archival Ink in Jet Black. The petals were brushed with a TH waterbrush to remove the background ink, and then filled in with TH waterbrushes filled with Dylusions Inks in Pure Sunshine, London Blue, Cut Grass, Vibrant Turquoise, Fresh Lime, Crushed Grape, Squeezed Orange, Postbox Red and Funky Fushia. The stems were created with a waterbrush filled with Dylusions Black Marble. The smaller of the flower stamps was stamped in the background with TH Antique Linen Distress Ink for a subtle effect. A white Sakura Gelly Roll pen was used to outline the flowers and add some interest. The centers are the gorgeous handmade skittles from Carri :) The banner is a Spellbinders Nested Pennant die, outlined with charcoal and the white Sakura pen and popped up with foam tape for dimension. "Just Because" is from the JustRite Stamps Grand Sentiments stamp set.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

For my 2nd Blogaversary Giveaway, click HERE!!

Hi everyone and welcome to the Spring Blog Hop!! I'm so excited spring is finally here!! Goodbye winter...I definitely won't miss ya ;)

If you've just stumbled along this hop, you can start at the beginning with our hop hostess, Jill from Every Day is an Occasion. If you are following along, you should have arrived from Arin of A Piece of Life's Pie.

For my spring project, I created an art journal page. I am having so much fun trying different techniques for art journaling!! For this page, I started with Strathmore heavyweight (140 lb) watercolor paper. Torn papers from DCWV's Be Mine stack were adhered with Claudine Hellmuth Multi-Medium. Gesso was then brushed randomly over parts of the paper, along with Sea Breeze and Bubblegum Pink acrylic paint, and then dried with a heat gun. White acrylic paint was brushed on a piece of bubble wrap and stamped randomly. Tim Holtz Frayed Burlap Distress Ink was sponged through a Crafter's Workshop Tile stencil. TH Peacock Feathers Distress Ink was brushed through a CW Harlequin stencil. TH Fired Brick Distress Ink was sponged through a Donna Salazar Bricks stencil. More gesso was brushed over parts of the paper to soften the colors. The flowers are from Dylusions How Does Your Garden Grow stamp set, and filled in with a Sakura Gelly Roll Pen. The edges of the paper were inked with charcoal.

Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste was used with a CW Flower Frenzy stencil and adorned with a pearl.

I came across an awesome blog, Such a Pretty Mess, and Gabrielle was kind enough to share her doll drawing for others to use!! I loved the design and couldn't wait to use her!! She was cut out with paper from Creative Imaginations Loolah paper stack. She was outlined with a black Sakura Gelly Roll pen. The flowers along her waist and headband were punches and adorned with small pearls. The stamp along the bottom is a Dylusions Inbetweenies stamp.

The sentiment is from Tim Holtz Classics #5 stamp set. It was stamped with black Ranger Archival Ink and then embossed with Ranger Verdigris Embossing Antiquities Powder. The edges were inked with charcoal.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

For my Easter party, I created an Easter basket with decoupaged Easter eggs. The paper is from First Edition Spring Feast stack. For the base, 2 four inch strips of paper were punched with an EK Success scalloped edge punch. They were scored every half inch and then the two sheets were pasted together. Four inches was trimmed off, and then the two ends were attached together. It was then hot glued to a cardboard circle base. Another larger circle was placed inside and keep the sides fanned out. The handle is braided sisal ribbon, hot glued to a piece of wire. The tag is a Marvy Uchida tag punch. Happy Easter are letter stickers.

Bits of the paper were torn into small pieces and then Mod-Podged to a plastic Easter egg. They are resting on a nest of white tissue paper, torn into thin strips.
