I Adore You Wall Hanging

To enter my 3 Year Blogaversary Giveaway, click HERE!!

Happy Friday, everyone!! I hope you have fun plans for the first weekend of April!! Today is the last day to enter my Blogaverary Giveaway, so if you haven't linked up a picture, make sure you do before midnight tonight (click on the link above)!! Remember, it doesn't have to be your baby picture, it can be your children, grandchildren, pets or favorite project...whatever you would like to post :)

It's my turn to post on the Die-Versions blog and I would love for you to stop by and say hi!! I have a wall hanging to share with you today :) The base is chipboard and it was covered with white acrylic paint. Once the paint dried, it was sanded it to take some of the color off. The papers are from Prima's Divine paper stack. I dry-brushed some of the white paint onto the background paper to soften it up a bit. A Die-Versions Whispers Hexagon Background die was cut in heavyweight cardstock and added next. The banner was created with a Die-Versions Whispers Lacey Dots die and the triangles were cut from the paper.

I used one of my older Julie Nutting Prima Doll stamps for this project. She was just the right size :) She was stamped on old book paper and cut out. Her dress was paper pieced and the top layers were popped up with foam tape to give some dimension. The butterfly on her shoulder and the bird were fussy cut from the paper.

The Die-Versions I Adore You Sweet Phrases die was cut from the Prima paper and then it was embossed on a piece of white paper. The patterned paper was then placed over the embossed white paper so that the letters popped through the holes. I then glued the small pieces from the patterned paper back on. The flowers are from Prima and the butterfly is a piece of chipboard that was covered with the paper and then covered with Glossy Accents and crystal gems.

Decorate to Celebrate #71 - Spring Decorations or Birthday

For my 3 Year Blogaversary Giveaway - Click HERE!!

Happy Wednesday!! I hope you are having a great week!! Can you believe tomorrow is the first day of Spring??!! It's still chilly here and the flowers haven't started peeking through yet, but the birds are chirping away :) Speaking of Spring...it's time for another fun challenge at Decorate to Celebrate, and for Challenge #71, we are asking you to create Spring Decorations or Birthday Party Decorations :)

For my spring project, I created a wall hanging. I picked up the frame at Goodwill for a couple of bucks. After removing the glass (and darn it, breaking it!!), it was covered with white acrylic paint and then lightly sanded when it was dry.

All of the papers are from Fancy Pants' Park Bench stack. The tags are all Spellbinders Labels 17 and all of the edges were sanded. I picked up the small clothes pins from Hobby Lobby and then cut strips of the paper to cover them. Believe it or not, I used my Cricut!! Poor thing was so dusty and feeling neglected :( The letters are from Gypsy Font and I welded them together with my Gypsy.

I used Spellbinders D-Lites One and Three, as well as tags from Nested Lacey Pennants. The circles were punched from the paper. The smaller tag is a Spellbinders Tags and Flags die. The sentiment is from a Tim Holtz Life's Possibilities stamp set.

The larger circles were cut with Spellbinders Standard Circles Small dies. The smaller ones were punched from the paper. The rosettes are Tim Holtz Mini Paper Rosettes dies. The butterflies are Spellbinders Fanciful Flight dies...cut in black cardstock for the base.

Spring was also cut from the Gypsy Font cartridge. The bird is a Spellbinders Bird Sanctuary die, and it was covered in glitter.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. DL.Art - March Linky
  2. Every Day is an Occasion - March Linky
  3. Just B Creative Crazy - March Linky
  4. My Sheri Crafts #129 - Celebrate Spring
  5. All Crafts Challenge - Anything But a Card
  6. Make My Monday - Butterflies
  7. Altered Eclectics - Anything Goes (Altered Picture Frame)
Now it's your turn!! Head on over to Decorate to Celebrate to see the amazing projects my talented design team sisters have created for today's challenge. Then link up your Spring or Birthday project...I can't wait to see what you create :)

A Lovely Blog Hop!!

Hi everyone and welcome to A Lovely Blog Hop!!

If you just stumbled upon this hop, you can follow along by starting at Every Day is an Occasion. If you have been following along, you should have arrived from Heather at The Hunny Pot.

The idea behind this hop was to make a Valentine's Day project, card, etc... For my project, I created a Valentine's Day wall hanging.

Watercolor paper was inked with Tim Holtz Distress Stain in Barn Door and Aged Mahogany, spritzed with water and dried. A stencil was placed over part of the paper and spritzed again with water, and then the water was dabbed off for a ghost effect in the stain. The edges were inked with Walnut Distress Ind and then Black Soot. The chipboard letters are from a Wal-Mart clearance a few years ago. They were stamped with the text stamp from the Tim Holtz Love Struck stamp set in Versafine Onyx Black, and then inked with Barn Door and Fired Brick Distress Ink. The edges were shaded with a Distress Marker in Black Soot.

I think the chipboard heart and wings are from Tim Holtz, but I'm not positive. I've had them for a long time and had thrown away the packaging. They were inked with Fired Brick and Barn Door. A strip of TH Tissue Tape was adhered to both. The edges of the heart were lined with a Distress Marker in Black Soot, and the wings were inked with Black Soot Distress Ink.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Simon Says Stamp - Have a Heart
  2. Sunday Funday #6 - Linky Party
  3. Dl.art Thankful Thursday - Linky Party

Paper Playtime #86 - Booville!!

Happy Monday!! I hope you had a great weekend!! It's the third Monday of the month, so that means it's time for a Say It With Sentiments Challenge at Paper Playtime!! The theme this week is "Booville". Our sponsor is Mary at Cardz TV Stamps...the winner will receive a set of of Mary's Cardz TV stamps!!

For my project, I created a Halloween wall hanging. I love the spooky tree and graveyard design of the background paper from K&Company. The edges were distressed with a Zutter Distress-it-All, and then inked with Black Soot Distress Ink. Boo is from Base Camp, welded on my Gypsy with a ghost from Happy Hauntings. The paper for Boo is from Me and My Big Ideas Mambi stack.

Such a tiny spider to have woven such a huge web, huh??!! The spider is from the October 31 cart with red gems added for his eyes. The spider web I picked up in a flea market. It was a big bag and a little goes a long way so you will be seeing more of it on my upcoming projects :)

Happy Halloween is from K Andrew Designs Fall-O-Ween stamp set. The bat is from October 31.

Decorate to Celebrate #30 - Anniversary, Wedding, Engagement

Happy Wednesday, everyone!! It's time for another super-fun challenge at Decorate to Celebrate!! For Challenge #30, we are asking you to create any project to be used as a party decoration (or party supply) for an ANNIVERSARY, WEDDING OR ENGAGEMENT!! Let's celebrate everything wonderful about being in love with your table decorations, party banners, pennants, yard signs, cupcakes, party favors and more!! :)

For my anniversary, wedding, engagement decorations, I made a decorative wall hanging for the happy couple!! For those of you that remember back in January, I got a deal at Michaels on ten canvases. This is project four of ten. To prep the canvas, Mod Podge was used to adhere an old music sheet, and when it dried, paint was applied in white, burnt umber and pink with a baby wipe. The Eiffel Tower was cut from Wall Decor and More in Grunge Paper, and then inked with Worn Lipstick and embossed with two coats of Ultra Thick Clear Utee Embossing Enamel, and attached with foam tape. The letters were cut from Base Camp on Grunge Paper, inked with Worn Lipstick, stamped with a music note stamp and covered with Glossy Accents.

The flowers are Spellbinders Spiral Blossom one dies, cut in Eco-friendly felt and then inked with Worn Lipstick, Tea Dye and Tattered Rose Distress Ink, with tulle in between.

The clock is a Tim Holtz die cut twice, once in black for the shadow. The hearts are from George and Basic Shapes, and welded together on the Gypsy. Foam tape was used for dimension. The paper is DCWV. "Kisses" and "I love you" are from K Andrew Designs Owly Hoo stamp set:

Now to my project!! I had a really hard time choosing which project to use because all of Jessica's are so gorgeous!! I decided on one she featured on her blog on February 20, 2011. See her original post HERE!

Jessica's beautiful wall hanging is actually double-sided, but I made mine one-sided. Those of you that attended the Getting Cricky U R So Sweet Blog Hop on Friday might have seen my note about finding a sale at Michaels on a bundle of 10 canvases. Well, here is project two of ten :)

I prepped this canvas the same way I did my project on Friday...I Mod Podged old sheet music to the canvas and then sponged over it with white and burnt umber paint. I printed the flag on vellum and secured it with Mod Podge. You can't tell in the picture, but you can see through to the sheet music in person. I cut the stars from George and Basic Shapes on DCWV Metallic Copper paper, scored them and popped them up with foam tape.

The circle is a Spellbinders Nestabilities die. I have a large wooden stamp with the words of America the Beautiful and I stamped that on the circle with Tim Holtz Faded Jeans Distress Ink. I inked the edges with Fired Brick Distress Ink and lightly stamped Old Paper Distress Ink over the rest of the circle. I hand-cut the envelope, ran it through the Cuttlebug with the Stars Embossing folder and inked it with the same two distress inks. I attached a grommet with my Crop-a-Dile and threaded ribbon through, including some all-American blue jean ribbon :) I added some ivory tulle behind and attached the circle with foam tape.

For the three sentiments, I printed out a border from Elegant Edges and attached two together with foam tape for dimension. I stamped America the Beautiful on them as well and inked the paper with Old Paper Distress Ink. Another reason I was excited to recreate this project was the chance to use my K Andrew Designs Freedom Isn't Free stamp set...the very first K Andrew Designs stamps that I owned!! All three sentiments plus "Freedom" on the circle are from this stamp set!
