Happy Monday!! This is a scheduled post, so I'm hoping everything works :) I have a fall journal page to share with you today.

It's been a while since I did this so I don't remember all of the items I used. The background was spritzed with water and then Dylusions sprays in Squeezed Orange, Pure Sunshine,Cherry Pie, Postbox Red and Back Marble. Crafter's Workshop Harlequin, Chevron and Numbers stencils were used with both sprays and water for a ghosting effect. The leaves are from the Dylusions Further Around the Block stamp set. They were colored in with several Dylusions sprays that were added to water brushes. They were outlined with a white Sakura Gelly Roll pen. Stamps from Paper Wings Productions Art Textures were stamped on the background with Wendy Vecchi Archival Inks in Potting Soil, Geranium and Orange Blossom. The text stamp is from the Tim Holtz Apothecary set. The birds are from Dylusions Birds on a Wire stamp set. The bottom border is from Dylusions Further Around the Block and colored in with Dylusions inks in water brushes.

The girl's head is from Dylusions Traveling Travis stamp set, and her body from Tallulah Tripp. She was colored in with Tim Holtz Distress Markers and a TH water brush. She was outlined with charcoal.

The sentiment is from Dylusions The Right words stamp set. It was outlined with charcoal.

Star Spangled Happiness!!

Happy Wednesday and happy 4th of July eve to all of my friends in the USA!! I hope you have fun plans for tomorrow...cookouts, maybe a party, fireworks :)

I have a Patriotic page to share from my journal. The page was spritzed with water and then Dylusions Sprays in Cherry Pie, Postbox Red, London Blue and Calypso Teal. Tim Holtz Picket Fence Distress Paint was lightly flicked over the surface. A Dylusions Starry Starry Night stencil was placed on the page and sprayed with water for a ghosting effect. Some of the stars were colored in with Cherry Pie, London Blue and a white Sakura Gelly Roll Pen. They were outlined with a white the Gelly Roll Pen and then with charcoal. A Tim Holtz splatter stamp from the Spooky Stuff set was stamped in Picket Fence Distress Paint for the effect of fireworks. They were then covered with Ranger Rock Candy Distress Stickles for sparkle. The circles around the border were created with a Wendy Vecchi Dots & Stripes Border stencil, as were the stripes along the bottom. They were created with Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste.

Julie Nutting's Prima Doll Stamp - Mia - was stamped on book paper. Her top, headband and shoes were created with a Wendy Vecchi stripes stamp from the It's More Flower Art set and Dylusions spray in Calypso Teal. Her skirt was made with a Crafter's Workshop Punchinella stencil and Dylusions spray in Postbox Red. Mia was then outlined with a white Sakura Gelly Roll pen and charcoal.

The sentiments are all from K Andrew Designs Sweet July stamp set. I couldn't decide which sentiment to use, so I used them all :) They were stamped on watercolor paper and spritzed with Dylusions sprays. They were then outlined with the white pen and charcoal.

Little Scrap Pieces Fun Friday - May Flowers

Happy Friday!! I can't believe how fast this week went by. I hope you have fun plans for the weekend!! It's chilly and rainy here today...all part of the April showers that bring...May flowers. And that's the theme for this week's Fun Friday Challenge at Little Scrap Pieces. We want to see you use a flower on your project. Our sponsor this week is our super-talented and super-sweet design team sister Sherrie of Sherrie Scraps With Passion :)

Last week I created one side of a journal page for the April Showers page, so I thought I'd do the other side for May Flowers :)

The base is heavyweight watercolor paper from Strathmore. It was spritzed with Dylusions inks in Calypso Teal, Vibrant Turquoise, Fresh Lime and Cut Grass. A Crafter's Workshop Cosmic Swirls stencil was placed over the top and sprayed with London Blue Dylusions Inks. A CW Bricks stencil was placed on the bottom and spritzed with Postbox Red. The bricks were outlined with Derwent charcoal and then highlighted with white charcoal. The sun is a stamp from Beeswax, stamped with yellow acrylic paint.  The letters were cut with a Tim Holtz Wanted die from scrap watercolor paper. They were outlined with charcoal, as were the edges of the page. The flowers are a Dylusions Background Love stamp, colored in with Tim Holtz Waterbrushes filled with Dylusions inks, and then outlined with Sakura Gelly Roll pens in white and black. The girl is a Dylusions Annie stencil, colored in with black acrylic ink. She was stamped with the script stamp from the Tim Holtz Mini Ornates set in white acrylic ink. She was outlined with white and gray charcoal.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

Little Scrap Pieces Fun Friday - April Showers

Happy Friday!! I hope you are having a great week!! My nieces are still here so I haven't had a chance to visit your blogs, but I will be by on Sunday night when they leave. It's time for a Fun Friday Challenge at Little Scrap Pieces :) Our theme this week is "April Showers" - we want you to use an umbrella, cloud, rain boots...

For my project, I wanted to use an awesome new rain stencil from The Crafter's Workshop, so I created a journal page.

The watercolor paper was spritzed with water and then sprayed with Dylusions sprays in Cut Grass, Fresh Lime, Dirty Martini, Calypso Teal, Vibrant Turquoise and London Blue. A Darkroom Door script stamp was stamped with Ranger Aquamarine Archival Ink. Stamps from Paper Wings Productions' Art Textures stamp set were stamped with Jet Black Archival Ink. A toothbrush was dipped in white acrylic paint and flicked across the page. The raindrops are a Crafter's Workshop Rain stencil, sponged with white acrylic paint and outlined with a black Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pen. The grass along the bottom is a Dylusions On the Edge stamp, colored in with Dylusions Cut Grass in a Tim Holtz Waterbrush. The border along the sides and top are from a Dylusions Further Around the Block set, colored in with a TH Waterbrush filled with Funky Fushia and a white Sakura Gelly Roll Pen. The edges of the page were outlined with a charcoal pencil.

April Showers was cut from a scrap piece of watercolor paper sprayed with Dylusions sprays in Squeezed Orange, Lemon Zest and Pure Sunshine. The letters are from TH's Wanted die and were scribbled with a white gelly roll pen.

The girl and umbrella are from Dylusions Ruby Rainbow stamp set. The umbrella was colored in with TH Distress Markers in Barn Door, Fired Brick, Dusty Concord and Walnut and a waterbrush. Ruby was colored with TH Distress Markers in Barn Door, Fired Brick, Spiced Marmalade, Wild Honey, Peeled Paint, Broken China, Dusty Concord, a waterbrush and a white gelly roll pen. Her hair was colored in with a waterbrush filled with Dylusions Lemon Zest. She was outlined with charcoal and then white charcoal. The bird is from a Dylusions How Does Your Garden Grow set, colored in with a waterbrush filled with Dirty Martini. The sentiment is a Tim Holtz Good Thoughts stamp set, colored in with waterbrushes filled with Postbox Red and After Midnight, and a white gelly roll pen. It was outlined with white charcoal.

I'm entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Simon Says Stamp and Show - Anything Goes
  2. Inspiration Emporium - Masks and Stencils
  3. DL.Art Thankful Thursday #106 - Spring
  4. Sunday Funday #8 - April Linky Party

Spread Your Wings and WINNERS!!

Happy Monday and first day of April!! I hope you had a wonderful Easter!! It was a beautiful weekend here - sunny and in the 50's. The Daffodils are blooming...I finally feel like spring is here!! And speaking of spring, my niece and step-niece are coming to stay with me this week for their spring break, so I won't be around very much. I have some DT commitments set to auto-post. I will stop by your blogs when they leave :)

I have another journal page to share with you today. I have been experimenting with different techniques and having so much fun. The pictures don't really show all of the details of the background. Someday, I'm going to splurge and get a video camera...it would be easier than trying to explain the steps :)

I started by adding papers from DCWV's Music stack, adhered with Claudine Hellmuth's Matte Multi Medium. Then a wash of white acrylic paint and water was brushed over the papers. Next was a layer of peach acrylic paint, spread with a credit card. Once that was dry, sea glass acrylic paint was added. The peach paint was brushed over bubble wrap and stamped on the background. Several TH stamps from the Ultimate Grunge, Psychedelic Grunge and Slight Alterations sets were stamped with Antique Linen, Old Paper, Brushed Sage and Dried Marigold Distress Inks, as well as white acrylic paint. The letters are from TH's Word Play die, cut on Grungepaper and painted with peach, sea glass and white acrylic paint. They were then stamped with the French script stamp from Darkroom Door. I love this stamp - it's really large so you can cover a lot of area at once. The edges of the page, the letters and wings were outlined with charcoal and a white Sakura Gelly Roll pen.

The wings are a TH Layered Wings die cut with Grungepaper. The bottom layer was covered with sea glass acrylic paint, the next layer peach and the top white. They were then stamped with the same Darkroom Door French script stamp with Ranger Jet Black Archival Ink. The butterflies are from the TH Shabby French stamp set.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
  2. Simon Says Stamp and Show - Anything Goes

The flowers were inked with Tim Holtz Victorian Velvet Distress Ink and adorned with crystal gems. The branches and owl were adhered with Claudine Hellmuth Multi-Medium.

The base is heavyweight Strathmore watercolor paper. It was painted with a coat of gesso, and then acrylic paints in sky blue, soft apple and ballet pink. TH Peacock Feathers Distress Ink was sponged through a Crafter's Workshop Harlequin stencil, Bundled Sage through a CW Tile stencil, and Spun Sugar through a Dylusions Dotted Flowers stencil. Hi everyone and welcome to the Spring Blog Hop!! I'm so excited spring is finally here!! Goodbye winter...I definitely won't miss ya ;)

If you've just stumbled along this hop, you can start at the beginning with our hop hostess, Jill from Every Day is an Occasion. If you are following along, you should have arrived from Arin of A Piece of Life's Pie.

For my spring project, I created an art journal page. I am having so much fun trying different techniques for art journaling!! For this page, I started with Strathmore heavyweight (140 lb) watercolor paper. Torn papers from DCWV's Be Mine stack were adhered with Claudine Hellmuth Multi-Medium. Gesso was then brushed randomly over parts of the paper, along with Sea Breeze and Bubblegum Pink acrylic paint, and then dried with a heat gun. White acrylic paint was brushed on a piece of bubble wrap and stamped randomly. Tim Holtz Frayed Burlap Distress Ink was sponged through a Crafter's Workshop Tile stencil. TH Peacock Feathers Distress Ink was brushed through a CW Harlequin stencil. TH Fired Brick Distress Ink was sponged through a Donna Salazar Bricks stencil. More gesso was brushed over parts of the paper to soften the colors. The flowers are from Dylusions How Does Your Garden Grow stamp set, and filled in with a Sakura Gelly Roll Pen. The edges of the paper were inked with charcoal.

Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste was used with a CW Flower Frenzy stencil and adorned with a pearl.

I came across an awesome blog, Such a Pretty Mess, and Gabrielle was kind enough to share her doll drawing for others to use!! I loved the design and couldn't wait to use her!! She was cut out with paper from Creative Imaginations Loolah paper stack. She was outlined with a black Sakura Gelly Roll pen. The flowers along her waist and headband were punches and adorned with small pearls. The stamp along the bottom is a Dylusions Inbetweenies stamp.

The sentiment is from Tim Holtz Classics #5 stamp set. It was stamped with black Ranger Archival Ink and then embossed with Ranger Verdigris Embossing Antiquities Powder. The edges were inked with charcoal.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

Dream Believe Art Journal Page

Happy Saturday!! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!! It was sunny and in the 50's here so I got a jump on spring and grilled some burgers outside today :)

I've been playing around with my Dylusions sprays and stamps, and today I have a page from my journal to share with you :)

The paper was misted with water and then spritzed with Vibrant Turquoise and Calypso Teal. A Crafter's Workshop Numbers stencil was placed over the paper and spritzed with London Blue. More London Blue was sprayed along the bottom, and Dirty Martini was spritzed along the top. A Dylusions Number Jumble stencil was then placed over the paper and misted with water for a ghosting effect. The numbers stamp from the Dylusions Basic Backgrounds set was randomly stamped with Tim Holtz Weathered Wood Distress Ink. The border along the top is from the Dylusions Further Around the Block stamp set. It was stamped with black Ranger Archival Ink and colored in with a white Sakura Gelly Roll pen as was the checkered floor stamp from Beeswax Rubber Stamps. A mask was placed over the floor and then the vines were stamped around it. The long vines with numbers are from the Dylusions Around the Block stamp set, and the solid ones along the bottom are from the Doodle Parts set. They were colored in with TH water brushes filled with Cherry Pie, Postbox Red, Lemon Zest, Pure Sunshine and Squeezed Orange Dylusions sprays.

Dependable Dotty was stamped with Archival Ink and then colored in with TH Distress Markers in Spiced Marmalade, Dusty Concord, Peeled Paint, Mustard Seed, Worn Lipstick, Faded Jeans, Broken China, Barn Door, Fired Brick, Spun Sugar and Chipped Sapphire. The wings are from the Dylusions Doolally Dorris set. The bird is from the Birds on a Wire set. Dotty was outlined with a charcoal pencil to give a bit of depth. Dream and Believe are from the Word Love set, colored in with Lemon Zest and outlined with the Gelly Roll pen. The circles are from Paper Wings Productions Art Textures stamp set.
