Cowboy Christmas

Happy Wednesday, everyone!! I hope you are having a wonderful week!! I hope all of my friends on the east coast are okay after the blizzard. I'm glad it wasn't as bad as earlier predictions...but having lived through a New England blizzard in the Adirondack Mountains, I know it's not fun. One year, we lost power for over a week and my Jeep was completely buried under so much snow, the fire department had to dig it out. Here in Indiana we had a very light dusting of snow but that's it. It's been a relatively light winter for us snow-wise. I'm not complaining :)

I have a couple of projects from Christmas that I didn't get the chance to post earlier and it's almost February...gosh I'm so behind!! Isn't this just the cutest boot??!! It's a file from SVGCuts...you can find it HERE. I made this for my Dad...a wannabe cowboy ;) The paper is from DCWV and I embossed the toe with a Tim Holtz embossing folder. For the strap on the back, I used a sheet of copper foil. The tag is a Taylored Expressions banner die. Merry Christmas is from Craftin Desert Diva's Happy Celebrations stamp set. I added some of my Dad's favorite candy before I gave it to him :)

I found this cowboy picture on a royalty-free photo site and I knew he would love it, so I purchased it and then imported it into Cricut's Design Space. I then used the auto-trace tool to cut around the image...my gosh, it was so easy...it did all the work for me. This was the test I did on heavyweight black cardstock but for my Dad's gift, I cut it in black vinyl so he could put it on the wall in his den :)

I want to make a pink boot for myself now :) I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Craftin Desert Divas Craft It Up & Link It Up - 3D Projects
  2. DL.Art - January Linky
  3. Little Scrap Pieces - Show It Off Saturday
Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great day :)

Merry Christmas

Happy Friday!! I hope you have fun plans for the weekend!! It's my turn to post on the Die-Versions blog and I have a Christmas tag to share with you today :)

I distressed the edges of the tag with a Zutter DIA. A Die-Versions Whispers Ornamental Fence die was layered over burlap. A Die-Versions Regal Reindeer was cut twice and popped up with foam tape. Red gems were added to the swirly antlers.

The flowers are a mixture of Wild Orchid Crafts and Petaloo. A Die-Versions Daisy Flair die was cut in vellum and tucked among the blooms. Merry Christmas is from Craftin Desert Divas Happy Celebrations stamp set. It was heat embossed with Recollections Blaze Embossing Powder.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

1. DL.art - October Linky
2. Dies R Us Challenge #11 - Gift Tags
3. Craft It Up & Link It Up - Anything But a Card

Mark your calendars for October 21...the Die-Versions Design Team will be hosting a Think Pink Blog Hop. You can participate by linking up your Think Pink projects...you could win a $25 gift certificate to shop at the Die-Versions store!!

Craft It Up & Link It Up - Fall

** Please vote for my project in the Spellbinders A Gilded Life Contest: #1 Love Card HERE. Thank you so, so much!! **

Happy Monday!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!! It's time for another Craft It Up & Link It Up Linky Party at Craftin Desert Divas. The theme this week is fall.

For my fall card, I created a Thanksgiving card...it will be here before we know it!! The papers are from DCWV's Fall Mat Stack from a couple of years ago. The background is a Die-Versions Floral Background die. I used a sheet of sticky dots to adhere it to a sheet of shimmery paper from the DCWV stack.

You can see the shine of the paper better from this angle. The clock is a Tim Holtz Weathered Clock die. The leaves are Spellbinders dies. They were sanded to bring out some of the texture. The swirly leaves are a Memory Box die cut in vellum.

The sentiment is from the CDD Happy Celebrations stamp set:

You can purchase it and all the stamps in the Craftin Desert Shop HERE.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

1. DL.Art - September Linky

Happy Holidays!!

Happy Wednesday!! It's my turn to post on the Die-Versions blog...you can visit HERE. I have a project to share with you today using one of the dies from the latest Christmas in July release.

For my project, I created a bag to hold Christmas treats. The paper is from My Mind's Eye. The bag was created with a We R Memory Keepers Gift Bag Punch. This is the first time I've used it and it definitely won't be the last!! It was easy and fun to use :) For this card, I used the new Die-Versions Whispers Delicate Snowflake die. I love the intricate swirls of this beautiful die. I cut it out of the paper once the sides of the bag had been scored. I then added clear plastic to the back and layered in a white snowflake. The sentiment is from Craftin Desert Divas Happy Celebrations stamp set. The ribbon and beads are from my stash. Now it's ready to be filled with all kinds of Christmas goodies :)

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. DL.Art - August Linky
  2. Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes
Thanks so much for stopping by!! Don't forget to stop back on Friday for the Die-Versions/Sparkle N Sprinkle Blog Hop!! Have a great day :)

Decorate to Celebrate #77 - For Dad or Birthday!!

Happy Wednesday!! I hope you are having a great week!! It's time for another challenge at Decorate to Celebrate!! This week we are celebrating Fathers!! We want to see you celebrating everything wonderful about Dads with your table decorations, party banners, pennants, yard signs, cupcakes, party favors and more!!

For my Father's Day gift, I created a fishing vest gift card holder. My Dad doesn't actually fish and he doesn't hunt (thank goodness - I'm an animal lover!!) but he loves to camp so I thought this would be a fun gift card holder for him :) I found a big book of fabric swatches at Goodwill for $.99!! Actually, there were about three and they all had amazing swatches of fabric. I cut the vest first in Kraft paper and then I chose a fabric that would work for a vest. The die is from the newest Die-Versions release - Vest Card. It cut through the fabric perfectly!! I thought the frayed edges added a bit of flair. The pin on the pocket is supposed to represent hand-tied fishing lures :)

I added a fabric pocket inside to hold the gift card. Velcro circles hold the vest closed. The banner is a Spellbinders Ribbon Banner die cut in vellum. Happy Father's Day is from Craftin Desert Divas Happy Celebrations stamp set.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
  1. DL.Art - June Linky
  2. ePlay Challenge - Fabric
  3. Little Scrap Pieces - Show Off Saturday
  4. Funday Friday - Anything Goes
  5. Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes
Now it's your turn!! Head on over to Decorate to Celebrate to see the amazing projects my talented design team sisters have created for today's challenge. Then link up your Father's Day or Birthday project...I can't wait to see what you create :)

And now for my project....

I used the new Celebrate Freedom for my card today. The papers are from Bo Bunny's Anthem stack. The stamp is a Stampendous Blossom Beauty stamp and I've colored her with Prismacolor Pencils. I just love this stamp and the matching flowers. I have my sweet friend Diane of Nellie's Nest to thank for my current obsession with these Blossom Beauties!! She had me hooked on them months ago, before they were even released :) The big flower on top of her head is the matching Blossom Beauty flower and die.

The two smaller flowers are Memory Box Cherry Blossom dies. I thought the insides kinda looked like exploding fireworks, so I added a few around the card :) The banners are Lil' Inker Stitched Banner dies. The gems are Prima Say It In Crystals.

I used Celebrate Freedom from the stamp set of the same name. I colored in Freedom with my Prismacolor pencils.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Botanical
  2. DL.Art - May Linky

  6. Frosted Designs - Stars and Stripes
  7. Divas by Design - Anything Goes
So, all of these amazing new stamps, I had to create something with each set!! With Destination Fun:

A hammock strung among the palm trees on a tropical beach - definitely my idea of Paradise Found :) The papers are from Kaisercraft's Seaside stack. The die is a Taylored Expressions Beach Border die, cut once in heavyweight black cardstock and once in cork.

Paradise Found and...

Mahalo are from Destination Fun.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
  1. Little Scrap Pieces - Show Off Saturday
  2. Simon Says Stamp - Vacation/Travel
  3. Jo's Scrap Shack - Life's a Beach

The Happy Celebrations stamp set has so many awesome sentiments for all occasions. I chose to make a Father's Day card :)

I let the paper do most of the work for this card. It's Fancy Pants Wonderful Day paper and the edges were distressed with a Zutter DIA. The silhouette is a Die-Versions Father and Daughter Sweet Petites die.

The banner is a Taylored Expressions Banner Stacklets die. Happy Father's Day is from Happy Celebrations.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Simply Create Too #62 - Father's Day
  2. Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes

And finally, the fun new Picture This and Picture That stamp sets. For these stamp sets, I created a fun card for my sister :)

The papers are from Prima's All About Me stamp set. The edges were distressed with the Zutter DIA.

Sisters is from the CDD Sugar & Spice stamp set. Funny is from Picture That, as is the frame, which was stamped with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink. The image is a Julie Nutting Priscillia Prima Doll stamp. She was stamped on old book paper, colored with Distress Inks and a waterbrush, and popped up with foam tape.

Sweet and the arrow are from Picture This, as is the frame and the decorative corner stamps. The image is another Julie Nutting Prima Doll stamp...Megan. Two Peas in a Pod is from the CDD Perfect Pair stamp set.

Next up on the Line-Up is the amazing Emily.
