For my Halloween card, I used papers from Echo Park's Chillingsworth Manor paper stack. The edges were distressed with a Zutter DIA and then inked with Black Soot Distress Ink. The brewing witch is from Impression Obsession. She was cut several times for the different layers and then she was popped up with foam tape for dimension.

The smiling skeleton is from Memory Box Dancing Skeleton die. The spider and webs are from Impression Obsession. The flowers are from Prima.

I used more of the spider webs on the inside, as well as a stamp from Craftin Desert Divas Wonderfully Wicked stamp set.

Something Special Just For You

Happy Saturday!! I hope you have fun plans for the weekend!! I've finally decided to embrace fall - I do love fall, I just wasn't ready for summer to end. And I'm so not ready for winter and snow. So, in the spirit of the season, I purchased some pumpkins to decorate around the house and I hope to add more festive touches this weekend :)

I came across a card I did a few years ago - it's called a Box Card - and I loved the look so I wanted to make another one :) My sweet friend Beate put this tutorial together. Unfortunately, she doesn't blog anymore, which is a shame because her projects were amazing. You can find the directions HERE. It looks complicated but it's incredibly easy to create. The double-sided papers are from K&Company. The scalloped die along the sides is a Die-Versions Lacey Dots die.

For the belly band, I used a Memory Box Orbit Circle die. My Craft Spot Tiny Doily Dies were used for the center of the circle. The sentiment is from My Craft Spot's Stamping All Around Spring stamp set. I stamped it on vellum and adhered it to the paper.

Once you remove the belly band, the card expands into a box. How cool is that??!! You can add a gift card inside to make a sweet gift for someone special :)

I am entering this in the following challenges:

1. Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes
2. DL.Art - September Linky

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a wonderful weekend :)

Giveaway WINNER!!

Happy Wednesday!! I hope you are having a fabulous week!! I want to sincerely thank you all for voting for my card in the Spellbinders A Gilded Life Challenge!! I also want to thank all of my "Campaign Managers" who posted about the contest on their blogs, Facebook, sidebars and encouraged their friends in groups and teams to vote!! I appreciate you all so much!! I came in second place!! It was a much better outcome than I hoped for or expected!!

Since I can't send something to all of you, I created this card for all of my followers to express my appreciation :) I used the Memory Box Tiffany Frame and Cherise Label dies that I'm giving away today...well, not the actual dies - I bought two sets ;) But I wanted to show you how beautiful they are!!

The papers are from Pink Paislee. The edges were distressed with a Zutter DIA. The Tiffany Frame was cut first in cardboard and then patterned paper...I wanted it to have a little dimension from the Label and it's too thin for foam tape. Thank You is a Spellbinders In'spire die. It was cut once in black and once in patterned paper for a shadow effect. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The button on the bow is a Die-Versions Wee Petite Button die. By the way, I purchased all of these dies from Scrapy Land...they have such an amazing selection!!

I am entering this in the following challenges:

1. Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes
2. DL.Art - September Linky
3. DoubleClick Skittles Challenge - Anything Goes

And now for the winner of my Giveaway!! I had 76 entries in the linky, plus one who couldn't get her name to show up in the list. I added her name to the end. So there were 77 entries total. I used Random.org to choose for me and it chose....................................................

And #39 is.......................................................................................

39.  katieO

Congratulations, Katie!! Please email your address to me at indymermaid(at)gmail(dot)com and I'll get the dies in the mail to you!!

Happy Monday!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!! It's time for another Craft It Up & Link It Up Linky Party at Craftin Desert Divas. The theme this week is fall.

For my fall card, I created a Thanksgiving card...it will be here before we know it!! The papers are from DCWV's Fall Mat Stack from a couple of years ago. The background is a Die-Versions Floral Background die. I used a sheet of sticky dots to adhere it to a sheet of shimmery paper from the DCWV stack.

You can see the shine of the paper better from this angle. The clock is a Tim Holtz Weathered Clock die. The leaves are Spellbinders dies. They were sanded to bring out some of the texture. The swirly leaves are a Memory Box die cut in vellum.

The sentiment is from the CDD Happy Celebrations stamp set:
