A complete blog line up is located for you below in case you get lost along the way. Also, Tara has something new coming to the stamps next month. You are not going to want to miss it!!!

And now for my project....

I created a mixed media canvas, using stamps from Be Inspired. I started by adhering torn papers to the background using Claudine Hellmuth Gel Medium. I then dry brushed it with gesso and added pink acrylic paint in random spots, removing some with a baby wipe. Then I brushed white acrylic paint onto bubble wrap and stamped it in places. Several other stamps were used to add depth to the background. Wendy Vecchi White Embossing Paste was used with a Crafter's Workshop Art Is stencil to add the words to the top and bottom of the canvas.

Julie Nutting's Mindy Prima Doll stamp was stamped on watercolor paper and then colored with Prismacolor Watercolor pencils. She was then stamped with a text stamp (this is different for me...I usually stamp them on old book paper, but I wanted a little different look for this one :) Tulle was added for her skirt. She was popped up with foam tape and then outlined with a charcoal pencil to give her some definition. The flowers are mostly from The Paper Studio. Copper wire was twisted to add among the blooms and vellum was cut with Memory Box Floral Vines and Beach Sprigs and tucked in as well.

The wooden banners are from Jillybean Soup. I taped off the sentiment (my favorite!!) and stamped the lines on the banners. They were then embossed with gold embossing powder.

A Prima Junkyard Findings Small Typo Bulb was added to the bottom corner. The silver corner piece is from Recollections.

The butterflies are Memory Box dies and they were coated with Doodlebug Designs Sugar Coating. The banner is a Lil' Inker Designs Stitched Banner. Be Fearless is also from Be Inspired. The gems are Prima Say It In Crystals.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

Finnabair Inspired Canvas

Happy Sunday!! I can't believe it's November already. Where did this year go?? I have a canvas to share with you today that was inspired by the amazing works of Finnabair. If you haven't seen her work, it's just stunning!! This is my first attempt of her techniques, but I will definitely be trying more in the future :)

I created this a couple of months ago and I'm sorry, but I don't remember all of the steps. So I apologize, but this won't be the most detailed description...plus, the pictures aren't the greatest (it looks purple but it's actually very pink). I adhered patterned paper to the background, along with drywall tape for texture using Multi-Medium by Claudine Hellmuth. Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste was adhered through Crafter's Workshop templates: Bricks on the left, Art Is on the bottom, and Harlequin on the top right.

Several different flowers, buttons, chipboard pieces, twisted wire and lace and elements were added. Finnabair uses lots of industrial items, but I wanted to keep this a bit softer with the sweet image of my niece. The awesome chipboard butterflies are from my sweet friend Sherrie of Sherrie Scraps With Passion!! Thanks again, Sherrie, I love them!! Once everything was glued down, it was completely covered with a couple of layers of Gesso.

Once all of the Gesso dried, it was sprayed with Tattered Angels mist in Valentine Pink and Bubblegum pink (although it looks purple in the pics, it's actually very pink!!) Perfect Pearls Mist in Biscotti was then spritzed over the canvas. Once all of the mist dried, Gesso was dry-brushed over several elements to highlight them, as was pink acrylic paint.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Anything Goes
  2. Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes
  3. Craftin Desert Divas - Anything Goes
  4. Little Scrap Pieces - Anything Goes
  5. Just B Creative Crazy - November Linky
  6. Crafting Musketeers - Pretty Pastels
Thanks so much for stopping by!! Happy November :)

In staying with my theme from the last three seasons, I created both a seasonal mixed media canvas and tag.

For this canvas, I started out with Spellbinders Snowflake Pendant 2013 dies cut in chipboard. I adhered them to the canvas with Claudine Hellmuth Multi-Medium. White tissue paper was then adhered over the top of the canvas to cover the snowflakes and to add texture. The paper was then covered with Liquitex Glass Beads Acrylic Texture Gel. The beads add awesome texture...it reminds me of snow. A mixture of one part Sea Mist Acrylic Paint and two parts water was brushed over parts of the canvas to give a little bit of color. More of the Spellbinders Snowflakes were cut out and covered with Tim Holtz Brushed Pewter Distress Stain and then covered with Recollections Fine Glitter. Winter was stamped with TH Tall Text stamps in Distress Embossing Ink. It was then heat embossed with silver embossing powder and the letters wee outlined with a Sakura White Gelly Roll pen.

Lorenna was stamped on old book paper and her dress was stamped on Core-dinations Core Couture paper. The wings are Julie Nutting Wings. Clear sequins were added to the dress and wings. The lace for the ruffle and her shawl are from Hobby Lobby. She was popped up with foam tape for dimension.

Here are all four of my seasonal canvases.

For my tag, I used Lorenna again because she's my favorite and I love her dress :) The papers for this tag are from My Mind's Eye O Christmas Tree stack. The side swirls are Spellbinders Fanciful Holidays dies. The poinsettias were cut from the paper. Merry Christmas is from the Tim Holtz Mini Holidays #3 stamp set. It was stamped with TH Distress Embossing Ink and then heat set with red embossing powder. Every other fold of the dress was adhered with foam tape.

  2. Sunday Funday - August Linky Party

Prima Doll Blog Hop - Week 2 Summer

Happy Tuesday and welcome back for the second week of the Prima Doll Blog Hop!!

We are in the second week of a four part HOP and the rules are very simple. Each Tuesday throughout the month of August we will be sharing creations made with a variety of these fabulous Julie Nutting Prima doll stamps to inspire you.

All you will need to do is hop to each of our blogs (links are below) each Tuesday in August and leave us a comment. Be sure to include your email address because on August 30th we will EACH BE GIVING AWAY A PRIZE. We will be sharing what our individual prize packages are on our blogs.

REMEMBER … you will need to comment EACH TUESDAY to qualify for the prize! AND … if you share our hop info on your blog, your name will go in twice towards the prize. WAIT THERE’S MORE! If you become a follower/subscriber you get a THIRD CHANCE!!

For my Spring project, click HERE. For Summer, I decided to follow along the same theme and create a mixed media canvas.

I started with another 8x10 canvas and adhered torn pieces of paper from  K & Company's Happy Trails paper stack with Claudine Hellmuth's Gel Medium. Acrylic paint in aqua and sea blue were scraped on the background. Liquitex Super Heavy Gesso was applied through a Crafter's Workshop Cosmic Swirls template. The banner was created with Spellbinders Nested Pennants and Nested Lacy Pennants dies. The letters are from Tim Holtz Idea-ology Alpha Parts. For the boardwalk, I basically created a box to attach to the bottom of the canvas. The paper was embossed with a TH Wood Grain embossing folder and inked with TH Gathered Twig Distress Ink. Lollypop sticks with twine hot glued to them were used for the rail. The arrow is a Spellbinders Nautical Frames and Accents die, inked with TH Salty Ocean and Gathered Twig Distress Inks. Boardwalk is from Artistic Outpost's Boardwalk stamp set.

The tag is from We R Memory Keepers Down the Boardwalk stack. The sentiment is from Paper Wings Productions Sea Melange stamp set.

Olive was stamped on an old book page (my favorite thing to use for the doll stamps). You can't tell in the pic, but her top is peach with sparkles - so pretty!! She was popped up with foam tape and then outlined with first a white charcoal pencil and then a black one.

And I couldn't help but make a summer tag, too :)

My summer tag celebrates Independence Day. The paper is from DCWV's Summer Days stack. Stars & stripes, July 4th and the flag were cut from the same paper stack.

The doll was stamped again on old book paper. Her outfit is from the DCWV Summer Day stack. Her sunglasses were cut from the paper in the We R Memory Keepers Down the Boardwalk stack. She was popped up with foam tape.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. DL.Art - Thankful Thursday - August Anything Goes
  2. Sunday Funday - August Linky Party
  3. Just B Creative Crazy - Just Because Linky Party

For my project, I created a canvas Halloween wall hanging. I didn't know where I was going with this, so I didn't take pictures or write down all the ingredients, but I'll try to remember. The background paper is from Me and My Big Ideas Spiders and Bats Mambi Stack. I used a small paper plate for the shape of the full moon and spritzed the canvas with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Peach Delight. Once it dried, Spiced Marmalade and Wild Honey Distress Inks were added. The moon was inked with Mustard Seed and Scattered Straw Distress Inks. Crackle Medium was randomly applied around the canvas and then inked with Spiced Marmalade once it dried and cracked. The edges were covered in stencil paste and painted black once it dried. I wanted it to look like spider webs, so once the paint dried, I used an Adirondack Paint Dabber in Snow Cap. "Halloween", "Boo", "Spooky" and the bats are from K Andrew Designs Fall-O-Ween stamp set. Click HERE to purchase this set.

The owl is a Spellbinder's Nested Owl die. It was cut twice and then the top of his head, wings and feet were cut out. The eyes are a combination of Spellbinders Beaded Circle dies, Circle dies and punches. The edge of the Beaded Circle die was used to give feather definition to the wings with a Distress Marker in Peeled Paint, and then they were attached with foam tape.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. DL.Art Thankful Thursday Halloween or fall colors or an owl or all
  2. Sunday Funday - Linky Party
I have blog candy!!

Decorate to Celebrate #30 - Anniversary, Wedding, Engagement

Happy Wednesday, everyone!! It's time for another super-fun challenge at Decorate to Celebrate!! For Challenge #30, we are asking you to create any project to be used as a party decoration (or party supply) for an ANNIVERSARY, WEDDING OR ENGAGEMENT!! Let's celebrate everything wonderful about being in love with your table decorations, party banners, pennants, yard signs, cupcakes, party favors and more!! :)

For my anniversary, wedding, engagement decorations, I made a decorative wall hanging for the happy couple!! For those of you that remember back in January, I got a deal at Michaels on ten canvases. This is project four of ten. To prep the canvas, Mod Podge was used to adhere an old music sheet, and when it dried, paint was applied in white, burnt umber and pink with a baby wipe. The Eiffel Tower was cut from Wall Decor and More in Grunge Paper, and then inked with Worn Lipstick and embossed with two coats of Ultra Thick Clear Utee Embossing Enamel, and attached with foam tape. The letters were cut from Base Camp on Grunge Paper, inked with Worn Lipstick, stamped with a music note stamp and covered with Glossy Accents.

The flowers are Spellbinders Spiral Blossom one dies, cut in Eco-friendly felt and then inked with Worn Lipstick, Tea Dye and Tattered Rose Distress Ink, with tulle in between.

The clock is a Tim Holtz die cut twice, once in black for the shadow. The hearts are from George and Basic Shapes, and welded together on the Gypsy. Foam tape was used for dimension. The paper is DCWV. "Kisses" and "I love you" are from K Andrew Designs Owly Hoo stamp set:

Click HERE to purchase this set or to see her entire line of stamps.

Now it's your turn!! Head on over to Decorate to Celebrate to see the amazing projects my talented Design Team sisters have created for today's challenge!! Then link up your Anniversary, Wedding or Engagment decorations!! I can't wait to see what you create :)
