Operation Owl Blog Hop!

For the Christmas in July Blog Hop, Click HERE

Welcome to the "Operation Owl Thank You" Blog Hop!!

Today the Getting Cricky design team and some special guests are coming to you for a special blog hop "thanking" Kristal for all she has done for us.  We will each be featuring special "Thank You" card to be mailed to Kristal.

The Design Team term is coming to an end and the DT just wants to be sure to let Kristal know how much she has meant to everyone over the last 3 months. If you are interested in participating, you can add your card to the link below and mail them to the address here.

If you've hopped along from Kathy T then you are in the right place!! If you are just joining me from your dashboard, or reading this via email, please be sure to CLICK HERE to start at the beginning with Brenda's blog (I wouldn't want you to miss a THING!!)...

We have some Blog Hop CANDY for one lucky WINNER!!!
Amy Chomas has graciously donated a mini gel pen set and holder
as our grand prize and some of the ladies have also added to the pot (surprise package).
You must go to each blog and leave a comment (following would be nice also) to qualify for the grand prize.  Brenda will be picking one lucky winner on Wednesday, July 27th.  So make sure to go back here and see if you won.

I am so honored that the Design Team asked me to participate in this hop today. Getting Cricky is one of the first blogs I followed when I joined the blogging community a little over four months ago. I soon learned that from Kristal I could expect heartfelt posts delivering a strong, inspiring message that would either make me laugh or cry - sometimes both. Whatever the message, I am always moved deeply. I don't know how she does it, but each post seems to speak directly to me, and when I need it most. She has a very special gift that only God could grant and I am truly thankful to have found her blog. I am inspired by her daily.

For my thank you card to Kristal, I couldn't decide which phrase from her six awesome stamp sets to use, so I created this card to use four from Amazing You. $1 from every one of these sets sold benefits the Doorways for Women & Families (an organization helping those escape and survive domestic violence). Awesome stamps - awesome cause! You can feel so good purchasing Kristal's stamps knowing a portion of the proceeds benefit people in need. Click HERE to purchase your own set of these fabulous stamps!
The background paper is from DCWV Playtime stack. I used Give a Hoot to cut the tree at 3" and the owl at 2". I embossed the light green background of the tree with the distressed lines embossing folder. I embossed the top layer with Swiss dots and adhered it with foam. The butterfly is from Sentiments and embossed with Swiss dots, the sun is from Indie Art and the lollipop is from Birthday Bash. I cut out one of the clouds from the paper and adhered it with foam and then cut the box that frames the sentiment. This is an interactive card, so when you give the lollipop a twirl, a new sentiment is revealed!

Here is the inside of the card. I used a stamp from her Fashionable Friends set! A portion of the proceeds from this set benefits Cancer Angels. Click HERE to purchase this wonderful set of stamps.

Before I send this card off, I am entering it into the Cooking With Cricut Challenge #43 - Lollipops

I have blog candy! I have a set of Owl ribbon just like what I used on the inside of the card, as well as a three pack of Tim Holtz Distress Stickles! Love this stuff :)
All you have to do to be entered in to the drawing is:
  1. Be a follower and
  2. Leave a comment on this post along with a way to contact you. I will select a winner from the comments on Monday July 25 via random.org.
Also, I am having a 500 Follower Cricut Cart giveaway! Click HERE to enter for a chance to win a brand new Picturesque cart!
Now head on over to Becka's blog and check out what she has in store for you and if you get lost along the way, here is your lineup.

Lisa! This is incredible! I was in love with it before I even realized the lollipop was magical! Your love and appreciation for Kristal and her blog certainly show in this thank you card, which is the most important factor... all the embossing is gorgeous (that butterfly!) and the sparkle is so beautiful. I'm currently working on the CWC challenge and am kicking myself for not making it interactive like this. ;) You leave me speechless, my friend! (Despite the lengthy comments. Hehe.)
