Happy Christmas Banner for Wild Orchid Crafts and Blog Break

Hello everyone and happy Monday!! I hope you had a fabulous weekend!! It's my turn to post on the Wild Orchid Crafts Blog and I have a Christmas project to share with you, featuring flowers and accessories you can find in the Wild Orchid Crafts Shop.

I wanted to make a banner I could hang on my fireplace mantle for Christmas. I cut cardboard for the base and covered it with papers from Recollections that my dear, sweet friend Sherrie, of Sherrie Scraps With Passion sent to me :) Thank you again, Sherrie - I love them so much and couldn't wait to create with them :) I used Pretty Flori Snow White flowers, and Mulberry Poinsettia Blooms in two sizes. In the center of the blooms, I used White Stamens, Double Head Pearl Stamens and Small Double Head Pearl Stamens. I also used Pearl Spray, Mulberry Paper Leaves, Crown Pins, Frost Berry Spray, Guipure Lace, Seam Binding and Sissal.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

1) Word Art Wednesday ~ Anything Goes
2) Jo's Scrap Shack Funday Friday - Anything Goes

Poinsettia Christmas Tree for Wild Orchid Crafts

Hello, everyone and happy Monday!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!! It's my turn to post on the Wild Orchid Crafts Blog and I'd love for you to stop by if you have time :) Today, I'm sharing a Christmas project with you featuring products found in the Wild Orchid Crafts store.

I picked up a paper mache cone from Hobby Lobby for the base of the tree. I painted it white and then covered it with cheesecloth. Next, I covered it with poinsettias created with Ivory Flower Making Foam.

I love making these flowers!! I decided to leave the natural Ivory color and just ink the bottom layer with Peeled Paint Distress Ink for the leaves. I used a combination of White Double Head Pearl Stamens and Small White Double Head Pearl Stamens.

And here it is all it up :)

Mixed Media Christmas Ornaments

Happy Monday!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!! They're just flying by, aren't they? Christmas will truly be here before we know it. I should be working on Christmas cards but instead, I have a couple of mixed media ornaments to share with you today :)

I picked up the chipboard ornaments for this project from Hobby Lobby.

I covered this one with Golden Crackle Paste in a thick layer. Once it dried and cracked, I covered it with red acrylic paint, waited a few minutes and then wiped the paint off so that it just filled the cracks. The snowflake on the bottom is a Memory Box Alipine Snowflake die and it was covered with Stampendous Shabby White Embossing Enamel.

I cut the Tim Holtz Reindeer Flight die in grungeboard and painted him with brown acrylic paint. Once he dried, I covered him with Deco Art Crackle Glaze. Once the cracks appeared, I used Viva Inka Metallic Gold to highlight the cracks. The Tim Holtz Pine Trees were covered with Stampendous Chunky White Deep Impression Embossing Enamel.

The poinsettia was cut from a Spellbinders Poinsettia die. Every other layer was embossed with Shabby White Embossing Enamel. The berries in the center are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

This ornament was first covered with black gesso and then red acrylic paint. Deco Art Crackle Glaze was applied all over and once it dried, white acrylic paint was used to bring out the cracks.

The pine branches are Impression Obsession Pine Branch dies. They were covered with Chunky White Deep Impression Embossing Enamel and with Liquitex Glass Beads. Texture Paste was applied through a Tim Holtz Dot Fade stencil. Joy is a Memory Box die and it was covered with the Shabby White Embossing Enamel.

I'm entering these in the following challenges:

1) Anything But Cute - It's Ornamental
2) LSP Show it Off Saturday - Anything Goes
3) Jo's Scrap Shack Funday Friday - Anything Goes
4) Decorate to Celebrate - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great day :)

Christmas Candles

Happy Saturday, everyone!! It's my turn to post on the My Craft Spot Blog and I have a 3D Christmas project to share with you!! Have you entered this week's challenge yet? There is still time to enter your 3D Christmas project for a chance to win a $10 Gift Certificate to shop at the My Craft Spot Shop!!

For this project, I wanted to decorate some candles to use as gifts and to adorn the holiday table :)

For this candle, I wrapped red wire ribbon around the base and used a sentiment from O Holy Night. It was stamped on white tissue paper and then I stretched the paper over the candle using wax paper to hold it in place, and heated it with a heat gun until it adhered to the candle and the tissue paper disappeared like magic :) The hanging tag is a Tiny Tag die, and it was used with a sentiment from Tiny Tags Christmas. The star and snowflake are from Small Alphabet and they were covered with Sugar Coating. Gems were adhered in the shape of a Christmas tree. Vintage Vanilla Crinkle Ribbon was tied around the candle to finish it off.

For this candle, a sentiment from Tiny Tags Christmas was stamped on a Tiny Doily die and tied off with raffia ribbon. Papers from The Paper Studio were used, along with white tulle and Washi tape.

This is one of my favorite sentiments...it's from the Christmas Chalkboard set. The letters were colored in with a gold pen.

This sentiment is from O Holy Night. I am entering these in the following challenges:
  1. DL.Art Linky Party - Anything Goes
  2. Little Scrap Pieces - Show it off Saturday
  3. Decorate to Celebrate - Anything Goes
Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a wonderful weekend :)
