Prima Doll Blog Hop - Week 1 Spring

Welcome to the Prima Doll Blog Hop!!  Have you seen the Prima Julie Nutting Mixed Media Doll stamps? They are ADORABLE!!

A few of us are having so much fun with them that we’ve decided to put together a 4 Part HOP and the rules are very simple. Each Tuesday throughout the month of August we will be sharing creations made with a variety of these fabulous stamps to inspire you.

All you will need to do is HOP to each of our blogs (links are below) each Tuesday in August and leave us a comment. Be sure to include your email address because on August 30th we will EACH BE GIVING AWAY A PRIZE. We will be sharing what our individual prize packages are on our blogs.

REMEMBER … you will need to comment EACH TUESDAY to qualify for the prize! AND … if you share our hop info on your blog, your name will go in twice towards the prize. WAIT THERE’S MORE! If you become a follower/subscriber you get a THIRD CHANCE!!

So what do you say? Ready for some fun??

For my Spring project, I decided to make a canvas.

I started with an 8x10 canvas and adhered strips of Fancy Pants Hopscotch paper with Claudine Hellmuth Multi Medium. I then took gesso and acrylic paints in baby pink and peach and drug them across the canvas with an old credit card and dabbed some of the color off with a baby wipe. White paint was brushed across bubble wrap and stamped on the canvas. Wendy Vecchi White Embossing Paste was used with a Crafter's Workshop Harlequin stencil to give some dimension. A Wendy Vecchi stamp from It's More Flower Art was stamped along with bottom with Ranger Archival Ink in Jet Black. The flowers were cut with a Tim Holtz Tattered Floral Garland die using the Fancy Pants Hopscotch paper, black paper from the Paper Studio and vellum. The letters were cut with a Tim Holtz Block Talk die in the Fancy Pants papers and black cardstock. The black was offset below the patterned paper to give dimension. The Rite of Spring stamp is from Artistic Outpost's Serenity stamp set.

Julie Nutting's Riley Doll was stamped first on old book pages and then paper pieced with the Fancy Pants paper. She was popped upwith foam tape for dimension and then outlined with charcoal.

And because I love these doll stamps so much, I created a tag, too :)

The tag is a Prima Julie Nutting Mixed Media tag. The papers are all from My Mind's Eye The Sweetest Thing paper stack. The background papers were cut with a Spellbinders Potpourri die and the side tab was cut with a Spellbinders Labels and Tags die. The flowers were cut from the paper and a few were popped up with foam tape for dimension. The ribbons are from 3 Girl Jam.

The doll was stamped on old book paper and paper pieced with the MME papers. The tulle for the skirt is from my stash. She was popped up with foam tape, too.

Some of my other projects using Julie Nutting's Prima Doll stamps (click on the picture to see the post).

I have blog candy!! How would you like to win one of these awesome doll stamps??!!

All you have to do to be eligible to win Mia, one of Julie Nutting's newest stamps is leave a comment on each Tuesday post (4 total). If you share info on our blog hop on your blog or facebook, you get another entry. And if you are or become a follower/subscriber, that's another chance to win. Be sure to leave a comment for each additional entry. And be sure to stop back next week...I may add a little something to the giveaway :)

The next stop on the hop is the amazing and talented Diane of Nellies Nest. Here's the entire line-up in case you get lost along the way or want to revisit anyone:

Oh my gosh - these are all so amazing Lisa! I love the awesome techniques you are using. And,even though I don't have a clue as to when to begin, you've inspired me to as least order a few of the stamps! I guess that's my beginning place! I just love the way you are able to achieve softness and dimension and texture on your projects - just beautiful! I hope that I can find some spare time to experiment soon. If I do, I'll be popping by for "one more look" and inspiration!

My sweetest friend, with each new doll project you post, I just fall more in love... you always bring out the best in every product, and these dolls are no exception. You bring such personality and life to each one. And of course you design the most glorious backgrounds for them. Both of these are stunning! The canvas is filled with so many incredible techniques, yet they're so harmonious that it remains soft, romantic, and lovely. The tag is bursting with life, too... and I bet you already know that I'm in love with the tulle. :o) I love the sentiment and beautiful colors, too. Gosh Lisa, I love everything about the canvas AND the tag. You are all things beautiful, my dearest friend. :o)

Hugs and blessings!
