Something Special Just For You

Happy Saturday!! I hope you have fun plans for the weekend!! I've finally decided to embrace fall - I do love fall, I just wasn't ready for summer to end. And I'm so not ready for winter and snow. So, in the spirit of the season, I purchased some pumpkins to decorate around the house and I hope to add more festive touches this weekend :)

I came across a card I did a few years ago - it's called a Box Card - and I loved the look so I wanted to make another one :) My sweet friend Beate put this tutorial together. Unfortunately, she doesn't blog anymore, which is a shame because her projects were amazing. You can find the directions HERE. It looks complicated but it's incredibly easy to create. The double-sided papers are from K&Company. The scalloped die along the sides is a Die-Versions Lacey Dots die.

For the belly band, I used a Memory Box Orbit Circle die. My Craft Spot Tiny Doily Dies were used for the center of the circle. The sentiment is from My Craft Spot's Stamping All Around Spring stamp set. I stamped it on vellum and adhered it to the paper.

Once you remove the belly band, the card expands into a box. How cool is that??!! You can add a gift card inside to make a sweet gift for someone special :)

I am entering this in the following challenges:

1. Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes
2. DL.Art - September Linky

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a wonderful weekend :)

Like you Lisa, I love fall, but this year I was not ready to let go of summer because we didn't have much of one. lol But ready or not fall is here. Our leaves are turning early this year and don't think there will be any to see when they are supposed to be at peak. Love, love your box card. I remember this tutorial well. They are fun and unique! I love the papers you used and your cute belly band. Hugs, Brenda

I'm so with you on the "not ready for summer to end" statement, Lisa....summer is my favorite. But...the weather has cooled down in Eastern, NC...we are only going to reach 80 today! Not quite fall but much cooler than summer. I plan on creating this weekend and doing some much needed sorting out of my supplies. I'm lucky enough to have my mom with me this weekend so I think it would be so fun to create a box card since you so generously shared the directions with us. This is absolutely gorgeous, like everything you share...another inspirational creation! Thank you. Have a happy weekend. xx Donna K

I will be checking out your tutorial link, as I've admired these box cards, but never tried one. Yours is lovely, and I really like the colors and that beautiful medallion you have as a topper. Sorry to read that Beate is not blogging...didn't know that. I LOVE her work. Hope it is just that life got too busy, and not health issues that are taking up her time right now. Perhaps she'll come back later on. Hope so anyway. Happy wkend, Congratulations to your big winner, and TFS.

My sweetest friend, this is gorgeous! I had forgotten about this style... but instantly remembered the first one you made. :o) (Your creations are always so memorable!) This version is stunning! I love your paper choices and especially love the belly band! That's one of my favorite sentiments and I adore the layered tiny doilies. The sweet flower makes it all the lovelier. The sweet eyelet trim is gorgeous. Thank you for including the link, as I hope to make one for Christmas. :o) I do miss Beate.. I seriously recall staring in shock when she announced it. :( I hope she's enjoying her family. :o) Have a sparkly day, my dearest and sweetest Lisa!

Hugs and blessings,
Karen
