It's All About the Candy

Happy Thursday!! Is this week flying by or what?? I have been looking forward to this day for months...today is the huge yearly book sale at the fairgrounds!! It's a toss-up which I love shopping for more - books or crafty supplies!! Today it's all about the books ;) I'm usually on vacation during this time of the year and miss the sale. This will be the first one I've been to in a few years and I can't wait :)

I have a Halloween treat to share with you today :) The base of the candy bar wrapper is heavyweight cardstock from The Paper Studio. The patterned papers are from Recollections.

The sentiment is from My Craft Spot's Halloween Potions stamp set. It was heat embossed with Ranger Black Soot Distress Ink. It was stamped on a Spellbinders Decorative Labels 8 die. The bat, ghost and spider are from My Craft Spot's Halloween Shapes die set. The spiderweb border beneath the ribbon is a My Craft Spot Fancy Edges Halloween die. The ribbon started out white. It was dyed with Dylusions Black Marble spray (it looks a little greenish in the pictures, but it's definitely black!!).

Quick and easy!! I am entering this in the following challenges:

1. My Craft Spot Challenge #153 - Spooky Treats
2. DL.Art - October Linky
3. Decorate to Celebrate - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great day :)

Something Special Just For You

Happy Saturday!! I hope you have fun plans for the weekend!! I've finally decided to embrace fall - I do love fall, I just wasn't ready for summer to end. And I'm so not ready for winter and snow. So, in the spirit of the season, I purchased some pumpkins to decorate around the house and I hope to add more festive touches this weekend :)

I came across a card I did a few years ago - it's called a Box Card - and I loved the look so I wanted to make another one :) My sweet friend Beate put this tutorial together. Unfortunately, she doesn't blog anymore, which is a shame because her projects were amazing. You can find the directions HERE. It looks complicated but it's incredibly easy to create. The double-sided papers are from K&Company. The scalloped die along the sides is a Die-Versions Lacey Dots die.

For the belly band, I used a Memory Box Orbit Circle die. My Craft Spot Tiny Doily Dies were used for the center of the circle. The sentiment is from My Craft Spot's Stamping All Around Spring stamp set. I stamped it on vellum and adhered it to the paper.

Once you remove the belly band, the card expands into a box. How cool is that??!! You can add a gift card inside to make a sweet gift for someone special :)

I am entering this in the following challenges:

1. Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes
2. DL.Art - September Linky

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a wonderful weekend :)

Today we are featuring the new Banner Sentiments - Fall stamp set and it is fabulous!! Throughout the week we will also be incorporating the four new metal die sets into our projects as well.

I used three sentiments from Banner Sentiments - Fall for this card. The papers are from My Mind's Eye. The ribbon is from my stash.

The spider and web are from Halloween Shapes die set. The banner tags are from the Ribbon Banners Straight die set.

The black cat is also from the Halloween Shapes die set, as is the...

...skull. All of the dies were popped up with foam tape. I have another card to share with you.

I had this idea to create a mummy and then I remembered the Spellbinders Mix'd Media Playtime set...I used the girl from the set and wrapped her with ribbon. I inked it in spots with TH Pumice Stone distress ink (couldn't have a pristine white mummy ;) and added the googly eyes :) The papers are from Recollections. The bat is from the Halloween Shapes die set. The banner is a Ribbon Banners Straight die, and the edges were inked with TH Pumice Stone Distress ink. The dotted boarder above the banner is from the Fancy Edges - Halloween die set.

Decorate to Celebrate #83 - Fall or Birthday

This is my first post of three...please scroll up for Day 3 of the My Craft Spot Sneak Peeks and the first Scrapy Land Challenge

Happy Wednesday!! It's a busy day on my blog today...this is the first of three posts :) It's time for a new challenge at Decorate to Celebrate. For Challenge #84, we are asking you to create decorations for Fall or Birthdays!! Let's celebrate everything wonderful about falling leaves, crisp evenings, autumn harvest or birthdays with your table decorations, party banners, pennants, yard signs, cupcakes, party favors and more :)

For my fall project, I collected twigs from around the yard to make a decorative candle holder. You could use a glass candle holder but I used a can that held crab meat. I painted it black and then adhered the twigs with hot glue. The ribbon is from my stash. The tags are layers of Tiny Doilies dies from My Craft Spot. Fall is from an old K Andrew Designs stamp.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

1. DL.Art - September Linky

Now it's your turn...head on over to Decorate to Celebrate to see the projects my design team sisters have created for today's challenge. Then link up your Fall or Birthday project...I can't wait to see what you create :)

Also, I had some requests for the template I used for yesterday's coffin treat box. I found the template here:

Coffin Box Top
Coffin Box Bottom
Coffin Box Instructions

It printed out pretty large so I resized it for a smaller version.
