Happy Thursday!! I hope you're having a wonderful week!! If you use the code l01210, Diana will give you 10% off your purchase at DL.ART!!

For my Halloween projects, I created coffin shaped cards using the layered coffin dies from My Creative Time's Spooky Time set.

I wish I could tell you where the papers are from, but I honestly don't remember. I've had them in my stash a while. If anyone recognizes them, please let me know. I fussy cut the skull from the paper and popped it up with foam tape.

The witch image is from My Creative Time's Happy Haunting set. The spider is from Impression Obsession and he was covered in Sparkle N Sprinkle glitter.

The bats are from My Craft Spot (no longer in business). The sentiment is from MCT's Happy Haunting set. The gorgeous crinkle ribbon is Orange from The Rainbow Bundle. The button is a Poppystamps Stitched Button die. The twine is Orange Twine from Diana's shop.

Colorful Happy Birthday

Happy Tuesday!! I had a little time in my craft room today and I was determined to make a card to participate in my sweet friend Becca's 30th Birthday Bash.

From Becca's mood board for her challenge, I chose bright, bold explosion of colors and circular shapes. It's been a while since I've made a shaped Spellbinders card (you can see the tutorial on how to make shaped cards HERE), so I thought I'd make a circular one and I used a Spellbinders Grand Scalloped Circle for the base.

I had the perfect papers for the cards...DCWV's Colorful Life stack. I used a Spellbinders Grand Circle for the bottom layer and popped it up with foam for dimension...actually, all of the layers were popped up with foam tape.

Next, I adhered a Memory Box Large Ringlets die cut in black cardstock with Mod Podge. A Memory Box Stitched Circles die was next, covered with Wild Orchid Crafts flowers and Elizabeth Craft Curvy Leaves.

Another MB Stitched Circle was added next, along with a banner from My Craft Spot (no longer in business). The happy die and birthday stamp are both from My Creative Time.

This gorgeous DL.ART crinkle ribbon is Red from the Patriotic Bundle.

And this beautiful DL.ART ribbon, which was perfect with the papers, is the Limited Edition Grape-Strawberry Sherbet, which sadly, is currently sold out. I am linking this up with Becca's 30th Birthday Bash.

Now for my project...

I created a birthday gift box using Lemoncraft papers from the Neverending Summer stack. (Shhh...don't tell Jo, but I created a couple of cards that go with the box!! I'll keep with the theme of Anything But a Card for this post and share them at a later date ;)

I purchased a Bodhi wallet for my mom for Christmas and it came in this box. It's really sturdy and perfect to recycle. I was intrigued by the quote, so I did a little research on Yahoo and found this as the definition someone provided: "Nearly all of our behavior is driven by our 'passions' - a semi-technical Buddhist term that refers to impulses, delusions, ignorance, and other afflictive mental states. These states prevent us from seeing the truth of each moment and then responding to that truth with wisdom and compassion. Buddhist practice - the 'magic' of Buddhism - enables us to transform these 'passions,' which means to see them as empty of self-nature, and to become free of them." I really did hate to cover up the quote.

I inked the edges of the papers with Tim Holtz Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. A Cherry Lynn French Pastry Doily was cut in half and placed on the top and bottom of the lid. They were then covered with Wild Orchid Crafts flowers, Cherry Lynn Mini Fanciful Flourishes, Sue Wilson Mosaic Leaves and Memory Box Chloe Stems.

Texture paste was applied through a stencil...I am completely blanking on which one. The butterfly is a Memory Box Isabella and the top layer was covered with Sparkle N Sprinkle Crystal Ice.

The sentiment is from My Creative Time and the banner is from My Craft Spot (no longer in business).
