Paris Card

Happy Sunday and happy first day of February!! Wow, how did that happen??!! January just flew by!! At least we are that much closer to spring ;) I actually managed a little time in my craft room this weekend!! It seems like forever since I've made a card that wasn't for a DT commitment or guest design spot, and forever since I've been able to enter challenges, so that's what I worked on this weekend. I came across this old MME Paper stack when I was doing some cleaning and I had just enough scraps left to make a card :)

I used several My Creative Time products to create this card. MCT Stitched Rectangular Frames was used and I actually stitched a little on it. My poor neglected sewing machine. An MCT Build a Scripty stamp was stamped in Tim Holtz Spun Sugar Distress ink on the background. The edges were inked with TH Victorian Velvet, as were all of the edges of the card. The Eiffel Tower is from MCT's Springtime in Paris set and it was heat embossed with vanilla embossing powder and popped up with foam tape for dimension. Paris is from the same set and it was heat embossed in vanilla embossing powder as well. It was stamped on a MCT Stitched Oval die. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the leaves are from Memory Box.

The banners are Taylored Expressions Banner Stacklets dies. The button on the crinkle ribbon is a Die-Versions Button die.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

1. Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes
2. My Creative Time - Photo Inspiration or Sketch (I used both)
3. DL.Art - February Linky
4. Little Scrap Pieces - Show it Off Saturday

Cowboy Christmas

Happy Wednesday, everyone!! I hope you are having a wonderful week!! I hope all of my friends on the east coast are okay after the blizzard. I'm glad it wasn't as bad as earlier predictions...but having lived through a New England blizzard in the Adirondack Mountains, I know it's not fun. One year, we lost power for over a week and my Jeep was completely buried under so much snow, the fire department had to dig it out. Here in Indiana we had a very light dusting of snow but that's it. It's been a relatively light winter for us snow-wise. I'm not complaining :)

I have a couple of projects from Christmas that I didn't get the chance to post earlier and it's almost February...gosh I'm so behind!! Isn't this just the cutest boot??!! It's a file from SVGCuts...you can find it HERE. I made this for my Dad...a wannabe cowboy ;) The paper is from DCWV and I embossed the toe with a Tim Holtz embossing folder. For the strap on the back, I used a sheet of copper foil. The tag is a Taylored Expressions banner die. Merry Christmas is from Craftin Desert Diva's Happy Celebrations stamp set. I added some of my Dad's favorite candy before I gave it to him :)

I found this cowboy picture on a royalty-free photo site and I knew he would love it, so I purchased it and then imported it into Cricut's Design Space. I then used the auto-trace tool to cut around the image...my gosh, it was so easy...it did all the work for me. This was the test I did on heavyweight black cardstock but for my Dad's gift, I cut it in black vinyl so he could put it on the wall in his den :)

I want to make a pink boot for myself now :) I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Craftin Desert Divas Craft It Up & Link It Up - 3D Projects
  2. DL.Art - January Linky
  3. Little Scrap Pieces - Show It Off Saturday
Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great day :)

Happy Wednesday!! I hope you are having a wonderful first week of December!! It's time for another fun challenge at Scrapy Land and it's everyone's favorite - Anything Goes using a brand of dies that SL sells!! There are over 40 to choose from!!

M

For my project, I created a mixed media canvas for my niece for Christmas. She just redecorated her room with a Paris theme and she loves colors. The  papers were adhered to the canvas and then brushed with a wash of Gesso to tone down the colors. Random stamps were stamped on the background. A Tim Holtz Honeycomb stencil was used with Wendy Vecchi embossing paste, and a The Crafter's Workshop along the bottom with WV Black Stencil Paste. Another TCW stencil was used along the top.

The banners were cut with Taylored Expressions Banner Stacklets Dies and covered in Sugar Coating. The letters are Die-Versions Downhill Fonts. The adorable plane and banner are from Obsession Impression. The butterflies are Memory Box Darla dies. The flowers are from WIld Orchid Crafts.

The doll is a Julie Nutting Doll stamp. She was colored with Prismacolor pencils, stamped with a text stamp, covered with Glossy Accents, tulle was added to her skirt, gems for the buttons, as well as a feather to her hat. She was outlined in charcoal for added dimension.

The Eiffel Tower is a LaLa Land Eiffel Tower die, cut once in black for a shadow and cut again and covered in Sugar Coating. It was placed over an X-Cut Doily Die.

Scrapy Land Blog Challenge #6 - Add Texture

Happy Wednesday!! I hope you are having a wonderful week!! I still can't seem to find time to get to my craft room so I apologize for the lack of posting lately. I hope you will play along - you could win a $15 gift certificate to shop at Scrapy Land and there is so much to choose from!!

I made this card for a very dear friend who just celebrated a birthday :) The base is heavyweight cardstock from Canvas Corp. It was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. The next layer was stamped with a text stamp from Darkroom Door and heat embossed with Zing Snow Embossing Powder. Then Distress Inks in Squeezed Lemonade, Rusty Hinge, Spiced Marmalade, Barn Door and Fired Brick were sponged onto the paper. The edges were distressed with a Zutter DIA. Happy is from Impression Obsession. It was cut about five times and the layers glued together for dimension. Spiced Marmalade and Rusty Hinge Disress inks were used to color it. The banner is a Taylored Expressions Banner Stacklets 1 die...I use this set a lot!!

Cheesecloth was adhered behind a La La Land Stitched Elements die. Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste was used through a Tim Holtz stencil to give another layer of texture. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. Impression Obsession Heart Stems were sponged with the Distress Inks and tucked among the blooms, as were Memory Box Tender Leaves. The Snow White Crinkle Ribbon is from My Craft Spot. The button is a Die-Versions Wee Petites Button die.
