Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Color Challenge!

Happy Sunday, everyone! It's time for another super-fun Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge! The theme this week is a color challenge! Since Halloween is just about here, our color challenge is to create a project using the colors orange and black. You are allowed to use one other color, so if you want to add a white ghost or yellow leaves...it doesn't have to be a Halloween project as long as you use the colors orange and black!
For my first project, I made scary Halloween owl easel card. The owl, bats and crow were cut from October 31. The fence is from Paper Dolls Dress Up, and I used my Gypsy to weld it together. The moon is a Spellbinders Nestabilities die, as is the tag. I used "Happy" from Fall-O-Ween and "Owl" and "-aween" from the brand new Owly Hoo!
I just love the sentiments on this set! I am entering the Owl easel card into the Little Scrap Pieces Copy Cat Friday challenge.
For this wall hanging, I cut the background from Formal Occasion. For the clouds, I started of with white cardstock and then crumpled it into a ball. Then I flattened them out again and sprayed one with Peach Delight Glimmer Mist, and the other with Lemon Zest and Candy Apple Red to give two different shades of orange. I attached them with foam tape for dimension. The flying witch is from October 31, attached with wobble. The tag is also from October 31.
You can't tell in the picture, but I stamped several sayings and images from Fall-O-Ween on the background with a very light ink. Then I stamped Happy Halloween on top.
I am also entering the Halloween wall hanging into the Decorate to Celebrate Challenge #11 - Halloween Party.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Please visit Getting Cricky to see all the awesome projects the Design Team has made and don't forget to link up your orange and black project as well! I can't wait to see what you create :)

I saw these at Kristal's first and couldn't wait to pop over and tell you what a great job you did. I especially love the owl card and I don't like owls (please don't tell anyone-I'll probably get kicked out of blogland for that statement.)

Gosh Lisa, you are just so doggone talented. That card is fantastic - your owl kind of freaks me out a little (in a good way). I love how you created such a striking card with only 3 colours! Amazing!

And I LOVE that wall hanging. How cool is your house with art like this on your walls? Like a super funky Art Gallery I bet. :)

Hey Sweetie, this is just plain cool!! You always amaze me! I wish now that I had gotten the October 31 cartridge, but until this year I have never made Halloween cards,(which probably shows). I just ordered Happy Haunting, for next year though. Maybe by then I will get the hang of it. This hanging is really nice, I actually love it! New pics of Kyce are up. Hi Lisa,
I love your halloween owl...he's a very intimidating character that I would not want to run into on a dark night (or the light of day for that matter!). Your witchy wall hanging is to cute. I love how her cape billows. That's a really fun cut.

My sweet friend, I've been itching to get here to leave you a comment! Your projects are incredible! Wanna know a secret? I played a little game last night before rushing to start on a new project (while I finally could!). I went to Getting Cricky to see the new challenge in case I could incorporate it into my plan... and then came the game. I decided to scroll through to see if I could pick out which was yours without reading names. And guess what? I was right! Despite your varied styles, despite your vast array of creative elements, your projects *still* always ring LISA! I happy danced when I saw I was right. ;)

Now, your easel card is fabulous! The spooky owl is scary and amazing.. he's so dark against the pale moon and the embossing is dynamic. Not to mention the paper and mixed sentiments are fantastic, too. And the wall hanging is incredible. I love the layers and how you made the witch look like she is in fact in flight. No detail is ever missed... just like the sentiment base is perfection. Excellent projects, my dear friend. You are so crazy talented. :o) (Whew, are you still awake from my novel?)

Hugs and blessings! :o)
