Hang In There

Happy Wednesday!! I hope you are having a wonderful week!! It's my turn to post on the Craftin Desert Divas blog and I have a card to share with you today featuring the Be Inspired stamp set.

I've had this Spellbinders Reflective Moment die for a while and hadn't used it. I actually forgot about it until I saw the beautiful card Kathy Jo of I'm a Little Teapot posted!! So thanks for the inspiration, Kathy Jo :)

The papers are from My Mind's Eye and they were inked with Tim Holtz Shabby Shutters Distress Ink. The next layer is a Spellbinders Romantic Rectangle die, popped up with foam tape for dimension. The gorgeous crinkle ribbon is from my sweet friend Karen of Little Scrap Pieces. The button is a Die-Versions Button die.

The butterflies are Memory Box dies. Spellbinders Adorning Squares was used for the frame. Hang in There was stamped with Versafine ink. You can find this sentiment on my favorite stamp set, Be Inspired:

Aren't these sentiments awesome??!! You can purchase this set HERE.

You Are Stronger Than You Think

Happy Friday and happy 4th of July to all of my USA friends!! I hope you have fun plans for the holiday weekend!! Fireworks started here on Wednesday, so they will probably continue through the weekend :) It's my turn to post on the Die-Versions blog and I'd love for you to stop by and say hi HERE :)

I am showcasing the new Whispers Frilly Dress die from the June "Life as a Diva" release. I just love the whimsical beauty of this die!! The papers for my card are from Bo Bunny's Primrose Collection. I cut the die three times - once in patterned paper, again in a different color for the flowers and then in black for the shadow. She was attached with foam tape for dimension.

The butterflies were fussy cut from the paper. The ribbon is from May Arts. The button is a Die-Versions Wee Petites Button die.

The sentiment is from Craftin Desert Diva's Be Inspired stamp set. You can purchase it HERE. The border is a Die-Versions Whispers Lacey Dots die.

A complete blog line up is located for you below in case you get lost along the way. Also, Tara has something new coming to the stamps next month. You are not going to want to miss it!!!

And now for my project....

I created a mixed media canvas, using stamps from Be Inspired. I started by adhering torn papers to the background using Claudine Hellmuth Gel Medium. I then dry brushed it with gesso and added pink acrylic paint in random spots, removing some with a baby wipe. Then I brushed white acrylic paint onto bubble wrap and stamped it in places. Several other stamps were used to add depth to the background. Wendy Vecchi White Embossing Paste was used with a Crafter's Workshop Art Is stencil to add the words to the top and bottom of the canvas.

Julie Nutting's Mindy Prima Doll stamp was stamped on watercolor paper and then colored with Prismacolor Watercolor pencils. She was then stamped with a text stamp (this is different for me...I usually stamp them on old book paper, but I wanted a little different look for this one :) Tulle was added for her skirt. She was popped up with foam tape and then outlined with a charcoal pencil to give her some definition. The flowers are mostly from The Paper Studio. Copper wire was twisted to add among the blooms and vellum was cut with Memory Box Floral Vines and Beach Sprigs and tucked in as well.

The wooden banners are from Jillybean Soup. I taped off the sentiment (my favorite!!) and stamped the lines on the banners. They were then embossed with gold embossing powder.

A Prima Junkyard Findings Small Typo Bulb was added to the bottom corner. The silver corner piece is from Recollections.

The butterflies are Memory Box dies and they were coated with Doodlebug Designs Sugar Coating. The banner is a Lil' Inker Designs Stitched Banner. Be Fearless is also from Be Inspired. The gems are Prima Say It In Crystals.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

CDD Sneak Peeks Day 2 - Kindness Matters

Are you ready to get the sneak peeks started? I am!!!

Welcome to Day 2 of our June stamp release party!! Each day we will be giving you a sneak peek at one of the four new stamp sets. Then, on Tuesday and Wednesday, we will have a blog hop with prizes each day. The design team has some amazing creations to start this stamp release party.

Today we are showcasing the Be Inspired stamp set. This is my absolute favorite set!! I love all of the sentiments!!

All of the new stamps are 4x6 and Made in the USA. Stamps will be available to order on Tuesday.

We hope you will stop by our store Craftin Desert Divas Shop and our Craftin Desert Divas Gallery Facebook group. We would love for you to join us and share your creations with us using Craftin Desert Diva's stamps. In this group we show previews first, have giveaways and much more!!

Here's my project I created:

The background paper is from My Mind's Eye. The edges have been distressed with a Zutter DIA. A strip of corrugated cardboard was dry-brushed with white paint and layered over a piece of vellum. Tulle was added on top for a bit of added texture. The shabby light post is from The Paper Studio Spare Parts.

The gorgeous flowers are from Prima. The butterflies are Memory Box dies and they were covered with Doodlebug Designs Sugar Coating. The ribbon is from May Arts. The button is a Die-Versions Button die.

In keeping with the whole shabby theme of the card, I embossed the sentiment, "Kindness Matters" with Ranger Antiquities Embossing Powder in Verdigris.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Anything Goes
  2. DL.Art - June Linky
  3. Little Scrap Pieces - Show Off Saturday
