Welcome to Craftin Desert Diva's Holly Jolly Christmas Blog Hop!!

I'm so happy that you could join us today!! If this is the first time that you have hopped with us, you won't be disappointed. This is the Craftin Desert Divas design team's first hop and I have to say my design team are all amazingly talented.

This is Day 1 and the start of the Holly Jolly Christmas Blog Hop! You will not only get some inspiration, but you could win GREAT prizes, too!! You must FOLLOW and COMMENT on all of the stops both days to have chance to win.

Here's the wonderful sponsors for this hop...

For this two day hop each blog will be offering a prize from one of the sponsors listed above. You must visit each stop both days to be eligible to win. Winners will be announced on Dec 18. The entire winning list will be posted on Craftin Desert Diva's website.

My sponsor for today is..

http://blog.tombowusa.com/

You could win Permanent Adhesive as well as a Refill Value Pack that includes 3 refills!! And their adhesive is awesome!!

You should have arrived from Michelle of Michelle's Cricut Fun. If you are just stopping by, you will want to start at the beginning at Craftin Desert Divas. You don't want to miss the chance at some awesome prizes!!

Here is my project....

The letters are heavyweight chipboard from Hobby Lobby. I covered them in My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Christmas paper. I used Tombow Permanent Adhesive to adhere all of the items to the letters.

As you can see, I love the Tim Holtz Victorian Carolers die (and adding bokeh to my pictures ;)!! I have to use them while I can during the season, so you will see them again on a project or two ;) For this one, I stamped the music stamp from Tim's Mini Holidays #2 set in Embossing Ink and then heat embossed it with copper embossing powder. I offset the black layer for a shadow effect.

For the O, I used one of the deer from Tim's Reindeer Flight die. He was covered in Glossy Accents and then a jingle bell collar was added.

Tim's Snow Tree die was used for the E. I coated the edges with White Enamel Accents and then filled in the rest with Rock Candy Distress Stickles. The stem was inked with TH Walnut Distress Ink.

For the L, I strung jingle bells on hemp twine and then wrapped them around the end. A Merry Christmas is from Tim's Mini Holiday's #5, and it was heat embossed with Fired Brick Distress Powder.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

Victorian Carolers Luminary

Happy Thursday!! I hope you are having a wonderful week!! It is flipping freezing here...we're talking six below this morning. Brrr. It's warmed up to 6 above right now. My hands were cold even with leather gloves on :/ I need to move somewhere warm and tropical :)

I have a quick project to share with you today. It's a simple one for me, not much embellishing at all (gasp!!). I couldn't wait to put together the Tim Holtz 3D Luminary die. I used Ranger Metal Foil Tape over heavyweight cardstock. And I love the TH Victorian Carolers die. I cut them out in music note paper and black cardstock, offsetting the cardstock for a shadow effect.

I also tried a different scene on the back side. I cut the deer and trees from the TH Holiday Joy Framelets set. The trees were embossed with Snow Embossing Powder.

And here it is with a battery operated tea light inside. I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Craftin Desert Divas - Christmas
  2. DL.Art - December Linky
  3. Sunday Funday - December Linky
  4. Just B Creative Crazy - December Linky
  5. 2 Creative Chicks - Christmas/Winter
Thanks so much for stopping by!! I hope you will come back on Saturday for the Holly Jolly Christmas Hop!!

There will be some awesome Christmas inspiration for you and tons of fabulous sponsors...you could win some amazing goodies!! I hope to see you Saturday :)

Decorate to Celebrate #64 - Thanksgiving/Fall

Happy Wednesday, everyone!! I hope you are having a great week!! We actually had a light dusting of snow Monday night. Ugh. Thankfully, it didn't stay on the ground long. But it's supposed to get down to 18 tonight. It seems too early to be this cold already. I hope that doesn't mean a long, cold winter :/

It's time for another challenge at Decorate to Celebrate. The theme this week is Thanksgiving/Fall Part 2. Let's celebrate everything wonderful about turkeys, pilgrims, family, being thankful and more with your table decorations, party banners, pennants, yard signs, cupcakes, party favors and more :)

For my Thanksgiving table, I had to create Tim Holtz' Quirky Turkeys from last year!! I just love them and couldn't wait to make them this Thanksgiving season :)

I followed Tim's instructions, including printing out the template for the turkey body. I made the wire holders from 20 gage wire. The tickets are Spellbinders Labels and Tags dies. Both sentiments are from K Andrew Design's Fall-o-ween stamp set.

I am entering these in the following challenges:
  1. Craft It Up & Link It Up - Thanskgiving
  2. Little Scrap Pieces - Anything Goes
  3. DL.Art - November Linky
  4. Funday Friday Challenge - Things With Wings
  5. Sunday Funday - November Linky
  6. Just B Creative Crazy - November Linky

Funny that I was posting my turkey project and I look out the window and see this!! There were actually eight of them...one is hidden behind the tree. Their coloring is so beautiful, isn't it??!!

Now it's your turn!! Head on over to Decorate to Celebrate to see the amazing projects my talented design team sisters have created for today's challenge. Then link up your Thanksgiving/Fall project...I can't wait to see what you create :)

Bon Anniversaire Mon Ami

Happy Thursday!! I hope you are having a wonderful week!!  I'm still struggling getting into my craft room, and with the holidays rapidly approaching, I don't see that changing soon.

I do have a card to share with you today, using the JustRite Friday Challenge criteria of WOW - white on white. My parents' anniversary is next week and I'm making cards for each to give the other, so this is the one from my Dad to my Mom.

Using heavyweight cardstock from Canvas Corp, the base is a Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles. The next two layers are Spellbinders Opulent Ovals. Each of the layers was embossed with a Spellbinders M-Bossabilities Enchanted embossing folder while the paper was still in the die, and then popped up with foam tape for dimension.

The center label is a Spellbinders Fancy Framed Tags 2 die. The sentiment is from JustRite's Shabby Chic Labels 4 set, stamped with Versafine Onyx ink. The gems are from Recollections and the ribbon from May Arts.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. JustRite Friday Challenge - White on White
  2. Craftin Desert Divas - Anything Goes
  3. DL.Art - November Linky
  4. Sunday Funday - November Linky
  5. Just B Creative Crazy - November Linky
Thanks so much for stopping by :)

Every Day is an Occasion Turns 1 Blog Hop

Happy Friday and welcome to the Every Day is an Occasion Turns 1 Happy Birthday Blog Hop!!

Jill from Every Day is an Occasion is celebrating her one year blogaversary!! Today you will be hopping from blog to blog gathering birthday inspiration. If you are just stopping in or joining me from your dashboard, you will want to start at the beginning with our awesome hostess Jill of Every Day is an Occasion. If you are following along with the hop, you should have arrived from the sweet and talented Shelly of My Paper Love.

I am just loving my new Sizzix Accordion die!! So many possibilities!! For this card, I was inspired by Karen Burniston's use of clear plastic for the die (HERE) and this amazing card (HERE).

For the clear plastic, I recycled Spellbinders die packages. The papers for this card are from Prima's Fairy Rhymes stack. I wanted my birthday card to be a bouquet of flowers, so I cut several from Tim Holtz's Tattered Florals and Tattered Florals Garland with Core'dinations paper. The swirls are TH Elegant Flourishes dies. The fairy in the corner and the bird in the top inside corner were fussy cut from the Prima paper. The butterflies are Spellbinders Fanciful Flight dies.

The banner along the top and the fairy in the corner were also cut from the Prima paper. The sentiment banner is a Spellbinders Nested Pennant die. "Make a" was stamped from a Hero Arts alphabet set. "Wish" was cut with a Spellbinders Opulent Opals die and a TH Wish Movers and Shapers insert.

The crystal gems in the center of the flowers and on the butterflies are from Recollections.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes
  2. Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Dotty
  3. Craftin' Desert Diva's #13 - Anything Goes
  4. DL.Art - Thankful Thursday - August Anything Goes

I am excited to be posting today as a guest designer for the second week of the Craft It Up & Link It Up Linky Party hosted by Tara of Craftin Desert Divas!! Every other Monday will mark the beginning of a new semi-weekly linky party and you could win fabulous prizes!!

This linky party theme is Anything Goes. The sponsors for this challenge are:

Robin's Nest - $10 giftcard
Cardz TV - Stamp set of choice

The more you link up, the better chance you have to win. Visit Craftin Desert Divas for all the rules and to play along.

My project today was inspired by Tim Holtz's August tags. I used his techniques to create a travel wall hanging. I started with a piece of heavyweight cardboard and painted it black. I then ripped a map from an old atlas, crumpled it up and soaked it in a mixture of TH Walnut Distress Stain, Old Paper Distress Stain and water. Once it dried, I used Claudine Hellmuth Multi-Medium to adhere it to another piece of heavyweight cardboard and attached it to the black. The corners are TH Idea-ology Metal Page Corners.

I followed Tim's instructions (HERE) for the tags, but used watercolor paper instead, and I used his new stencils on the background. The images were adhered to thin cardboard painted black.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Little Scrap Pieces - Linky Party
  2. DL.Art - Thankful Thursday - August Anything Goes
  3. Sunday Funday - August Linky Party
  4. Just B Creative Crazy - Just Because Linky Party
