Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2016 - August

Happy Sunday evening!! I hope you've had a wonderful weekend!! Gosh, they go by fast, don't they??!!

I was excited when I saw Tim's tag for August...for maybe the first time ever, I had almost every single supply :) I won't bore you with the details...you can find the instructions HERE. The only change I made was to use Spun Sugar and Victorian Velvet Distress Stains for the background. I also added a butterfly remnant rub to the top corner...it just needed something :)

I am entering this in Tim's 12 Tags of 2016 Challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! I hope you have a wonderful evening and a fabulous new week :)

Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2016 - February

Happy Friday, everyone!! I hope you have fun plans for the weekend :) My craft room is still a huge mess, but I had to clear enough space to play along with Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of 2016 Challenge. I'm determined to play along every month...so far, so good :)

I followed Tim's instructions HERE, but I had to modify it with the products I had on hand. For the background monoprint technique, I used Tim's Latticework stencil. For the embossed gold, I used his Arrow stencil. I colored the Found Relatives image with Spun Sugar, Scattered Straw and Broken China Distress Markers. I used Tim's Movers and Shakers Hearts dies, and I covered them with some of his Washi tapes. The sentiments are Remnant Rubs.

I am entering this in Tim's 12 Tags Challenge. Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great weekend :)

Scrapy Land Blog Challenge #12 - Splat!!

Happy Wednesday!! I hope you are having a wonderful week!! We had our first big snowstorm of the winter on Monday. I was so hoping to make it to spring without a big storm but no such luck :( It's time for another fun challenge at Scrapy Land!! The theme this week is Splat - we want to see your projects using inks, spray mists, paint...along with a brand of die that Scrapy Land carries (there are over 40 brands to choose from!!).

For my cards, I used several different mediums. The background watercolor paper was spritzed with Dylusions sprays in Postbox Red and Cherry Pie.

For this card, I used a Die-Versions Brick Background die to make a stencil. I then applied Wendy Vecchi Crackled Texture Paste through the stencil. The next layer of watercolor paper was colored with TH Distress Stain in Fired Brick and Barn Door. Fired Brick Distress Ink was then applied through a TH Heart stencil. I used a TH Distress Marker Spritzer Tool to spritz some Fired Brick Distress marker.

A Spellbinders Classic Heart die was inked with Fired Brick Distress Ink and then covered with more Crackled Texture Paste. The edges were inked with Fired Brick and Walnut Distress Ink. Once the cracks appeared, more Walnut ink was applied to highlight the cracks. The banner is a LaLa Land Stitched Elements die. Love is a Die-Versions Complements Everyday die.

For this one, I used a TCW Brick stencil so the cracks really show. The button on the ribbon is a Die-Versions Wee Petite Button die.

I used Die-Versions Heart Doodles dies to decorate the inside. I am entering this in the following challenges:

1. Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Texture
2. DL.Art - February Linky
3. Little Scrap Pieces - Show it Off Saturday
4. Jo's Scrap Shack Funday Friday - Valentine's Day

Now it's your turn!! Head on over to Scrapy Land to see the amazing projects my design team sisters have created for today's challenge!! Then link up your Splat project using a brand of dies that Scrapy Land carries...I can't wait to see what you create :)

For my project, I made a camera-themed canvas, using stamps from the awesome new CDD Capture the Good Times stamp set and lots of Tim Holtz products. The background canvas was covered with paper from TH. The four panels were covered with a mixture of Tea Dye, Antique Linen and Walnut Stain Distress Inks. TH stencils were used as well.

Life is Like a Camera was stamped on a Spellbinders Snapshot die. It was heat embossed with black and white embossing powder and covered with Glossy Accents.

Focus On What's Important was also heat embossed.

Capture the Good Times was stamped on a Spellbinders Postage Stamp die and heat embossed.

Develop from the negatives was also heat embossed. The two cameras are also from the CDD Capture the Good Times stamp set.

And the final sentiment was also heat embossed. I just love this phrase and wanted to create something to tie all of the sentiments together :)

Merry Christmas

Happy Friday, everyone!! It's my turn to post on the Die-Versions blog...you can see the post HERE. I am sharing a project with you today using a die from the latest Die-Versions Christmas in July release. As fast as this year is flying by, Christmas will be here before we know it :)

For this card, I used the new Whispers Merry Christmas Script die. Isn't it beautiful!! It's such a fabulous focal point for cards. The papers are from My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Christmas stack. The edges were distressed with a Zutter DIA. The organza ribbon was dyed with Tim Holtz Festive Berries Distress Stain. A Wee Petite Button die was used on the center.

The Whispers Merry Christmas Script die was cut twice, once in black for a shadow and once in grunge board. It was colored with TH Festive Berries Distress Ink. I then applied crackle medium to script for some texture. Once it dried, I added TH Tea Dye Distress Ink in the cracks to make them more visible.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. DL.Art - August Linky
  2. Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes
Thanks so much for stopping by!! I hope you have a fabulous weekend :)

Dream As If You'll Live Forever

Happy Monday!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!! I have been having trouble with Blogger for a while now. People will leave comments for me and I don't get the email notification. I don't know that they've left the comments unless I scroll down to the comment section on my blog. Is anyone else having this problem?? I submitted a question to Blogger that has frustratingly gone unanswered. I've checked spam folders on my blog and email and nothing. I do get most of the comment email notifications, but there are a few people that always comment and I don't get theirs at all anymore. And many times, when someone new comments, I don't get that either. It's been happening for a few months now and I am so frustrated. Any help would be appreciated!! :)

I had a chance to visit my craft room this weekend and put together a tag to play along with Tim's July 2014 Tag Challenge. I absolutely love this month's tag!! I followed Tim's instructions HERE. I didn't have the larger sea horse die, so I used the mini one. I also didn't have the Bubbles Texture Fade, so I used the Ink Splatter Texture Fade

I tried to get a picture of all of the awesome texture. The cracks on the sea horse are so fun!!

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Tim's 12 Tags of 2014 - July
  2. Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Let's Be Clear
  3. DL.Art - July Linky
  4. Little Scrap Pieces - Show Off Saturday
  5. Pause, Dream, Enjoy #14 - Tags

It's All Perspective

For my GIVEAWAY, click HERE!!

Happy Monday!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!! I was able to spend a very happy Father's Day with my amazing Dad :) I even had a chance to sneak into my craft room and play along with Tim's June 2014 Tag Challenge!! I really enjoy playing along with the challenges when I can. I have been lucky enough to have won twice, including last month :)

For this tag, I pretty much followed Tim's instructions HERE. I used his Schoolhouse stencil for the watercolor background. The edges were inked with Pumice Stone Distress Ink. It's All Perspective is from Tim's Good Thoughts stamp set. The other two sentiments are TH's Idea-Ology Remnant Rub-On's Words. The butterflies are from Tim's Papillion stamp set. I fussy cut the butterflies and colored them with Distress Inks and a waterbrush. I was so bummed to walk into my Hobby Lobby last week and find the new French Flight Framelits with the butterfly dies like Tim used for his tag. I bought them, but decided to still use my fussy cut ones.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Tim's 12 Tags of 2014 - June
  2. Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Anything Goes
  3. DL.Art - June Linky
  4. Little Scrap Pieces - Show Off Saturday
  5. Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes

Make a Wish

Happy Thursday everyone!! I hope you are having a great week!! Only two days left in February...I hope March is much better to us weather-wise :)

I wanted to enter a couple of challenges so I created a springy birthday card to add to my stash :)

The papers are from Ruby Rock-It's Arcadia stack and were attached with Score Tape. The edges were distressed with a Zutter Distress-It-All and then inked with Tim Holtz Victorian Velvet Distress Ink. Two sizes of Spellbinders Big Scalloped Circles Large were cut with papers from my stash. They were sanded with a TH sander and each layer was popped up with foam tape for dimension. The tag is a TH Tiny Tabs and Tags die. The pearl swirls are from Want 2 Scrap and I snipped and manipulated them along the side of the card. The ribbon is from May Arts and the Chalk White Seam Binding was colored with TH Spun Sugar Distress Stain. Make a Wish is a TH Remnant Rub - I am addicted to these right now...I'm rubbing them on everything :)

A Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangle die was used for the sentiments from JustRite Stamps Grand Sentiments stamp set. It was stamped with Versafine in Black Onyx.

The butterfly is a Spellbinders Wonderful Wings die. It was stamped with the coordinating stamp from the JustRite Grand Sentiment set in Victorian Velvet Distress Ink. The antennae were created with beads from my stash. The top layer was attached to the base with a Sakura Quickie Glue Pen along the center, leaving the wings unattached.

I used the Classy Cards 'n Such color palette for this card:

In staying with my theme from the last three seasons, I created both a seasonal mixed media canvas and tag.

For this canvas, I started out with Spellbinders Snowflake Pendant 2013 dies cut in chipboard. I adhered them to the canvas with Claudine Hellmuth Multi-Medium. White tissue paper was then adhered over the top of the canvas to cover the snowflakes and to add texture. The paper was then covered with Liquitex Glass Beads Acrylic Texture Gel. The beads add awesome texture...it reminds me of snow. A mixture of one part Sea Mist Acrylic Paint and two parts water was brushed over parts of the canvas to give a little bit of color. More of the Spellbinders Snowflakes were cut out and covered with Tim Holtz Brushed Pewter Distress Stain and then covered with Recollections Fine Glitter. Winter was stamped with TH Tall Text stamps in Distress Embossing Ink. It was then heat embossed with silver embossing powder and the letters wee outlined with a Sakura White Gelly Roll pen.

Lorenna was stamped on old book paper and her dress was stamped on Core-dinations Core Couture paper. The wings are Julie Nutting Wings. Clear sequins were added to the dress and wings. The lace for the ruffle and her shawl are from Hobby Lobby. She was popped up with foam tape for dimension.

Here are all four of my seasonal canvases.

For my tag, I used Lorenna again because she's my favorite and I love her dress :) The papers for this tag are from My Mind's Eye O Christmas Tree stack. The side swirls are Spellbinders Fanciful Holidays dies. The poinsettias were cut from the paper. Merry Christmas is from the Tim Holtz Mini Holidays #3 stamp set. It was stamped with TH Distress Embossing Ink and then heat set with red embossing powder. Every other fold of the dress was adhered with foam tape.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. DL.Art - Thankful Thursday - August Anything Goes
  2. Sunday Funday - August Linky Party

My project today was inspired by Tim Holtz's August tags. I used his techniques to create a travel wall hanging. I started with a piece of heavyweight cardboard and painted it black. I then ripped a map from an old atlas, crumpled it up and soaked it in a mixture of TH Walnut Distress Stain, Old Paper Distress Stain and water. Once it dried, I used Claudine Hellmuth Multi-Medium to adhere it to another piece of heavyweight cardboard and attached it to the black. The corners are TH Idea-ology Metal Page Corners.

I followed Tim's instructions (HERE) for the tags, but used watercolor paper instead, and I used his new stencils on the background. The images were adhered to thin cardboard painted black.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

  3. Sunday Funday - August Linky Party
