Hat's Off To You!!

Happy Monday!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!! It's my turn to post on the Die-Versions blog and I have a card to share with you using the Straw Hat die from the newest release. I also have some information to share with you...I'll do that after I show you my card.

I wanted my new Whispers Straw Hat die to have some dimension, so I cut it four times and then cut the center circles out, popping each layer up with teeny-tiny bits of foam tape. I mounted the hat on a Whispers Heart Burst die so it looks like it has a lacy edge :)

I cut a few Whispers Daisy Flair dies and tucked them among the Wild Orchid Crafts flowers. The button on the bow is a Wee Petites Button die. Hat's off to you is from an old K Andrew Designs Fashionable Friends stamp set. Also, I've been sewing on most of my cards again. I had quit for a while because I was always having trouble with the thread. My Mom suggested that I get more expensive thread (I had like the cheapest you could get!) and it made all of the difference!!

This is the first time I've used the new Straw Hat die, so that qualifies for Darnell's NBUS Challenge!! If you aren't familiar with the amazing Darnell or her "Never Before Used Schtuff" challenge, head on over to her blog, DJKardKreations for all the details!! I'm also entering it in Diana's DLArt March Linky party.

NOW, about the info I want to share...I'm going to try something new this week. Real life is seriously cutting into my crafting time and I have less and less time to blog. I've pretty much given up Facebook except for DT commitments already, and I'm still cramped for time. Visiting your blogs is one of the highlights of my day...I love seeing what everyone is creating. However, commenting is taking up between 1 1/2 - 2 hours a day!! I'd been trying to leave comments both in the morning and evening when I get the chance but it is still taking up too much time. So I'm going to see if commenting once a week will work, probably on Sunday. I'll go back and hit all of the projects you've created during the week. I wanted to let you know since I won't be around as often, BUT I will still be around and still comment on your projects :) Thanks for your understanding!! Have a wonderful week - it's almost April :)

My Sheri Crafts Guest Designer

Happy Saturday and happy spring!! Yay - spring is finally here!! I'm so excited to be a guest designer at My Sheri Crafts today!! The theme for the challenge #13 is Easter Wishes, featuring either a cross, bunnies or eggs.

For my card, I chose to use a cross. The papers are from Heartfelt Creations. The edges were distressed with a Zutter DIA. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. Memory Box Botanical Stems and Chloe Stems were tucked among the blooms. The gorgeous crinkle ribbon is from my sweet friend Karen of Little Scrap Pieces.

A Spellbinders Opulent Oval was used for the base with a La La Land Stitched Elements Oval on top. I hand-cut the cross from heavyweight watercolor paper. It was covered with Wendy Vecchi Black Embossing Paste. Once the paste dried, the cross was covered with Wendy Vecchi Crackle Texture Paste. After the cracks appeared, it was covered with Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Seedless Preserves, Dusty Concord and Shaded Lilac. It was then popped up with foam tape. The banner is from My Craft Spot. The letters for He is Risen were cut from a Die-Versions A Little Mint die set. I added a layer of double-sided tape when I cut the banner and after the letters were added, it was covered with sugar coating for a nice sparkle.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

1) DL.Art - March Linky
2) Scrappin4Fun Challenges - Spring or Easter

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great day :)

Craft It Up & Link It Up - Birthday Party

Happy Monday!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!! Mine might have been better if not for the snow. Ugh. I am so over winter. It's March...spring is supposed to be on the way :(

It's time for another fun Craft It Up & Link It Up Challenge at Craftin Desert Divas. The theme this week is Birthday Party. Our sponsors are: Unity Stamp Company, Miriam's Crafting Supplies and Little Scraps of Heaven Designs.

Our sponsor Unity Stamp Company provided stamps for us to use today from the Birthday Jubilee stamp set. The base of the card is heavyweight cream cardstock from Canvas Corp.

The papers are from Authentique's Seasons Essentials paper stack. The edges were distressed with a Zutter Distress-It-All. Spellbinders Captivating Squares were used for the layers. The butterfly is a Spellbinders Fanciful Flight die. I added tape to the back of a piece of burlap to cut it so that the burlap would keep the shape and not fray.

This is my first attempt at the chalkboard technique. The Unity sentiment was stamped with Versamark and then heat embossed with white embossing powder. When the powder was almost dry, a piece of chalk was scribbled over the top.

The beautiful flowers were purchased from my friend Archana at CraftyCity. Spellbinders D-Lites Corner Sprigs were cut in vellum and tucked in behind.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Little Scrap Pieces - Show It Off Saturday
  2. DL.Art - March Linky

Make a Wish

Happy Thursday everyone!! I hope you are having a great week!! Only two days left in February...I hope March is much better to us weather-wise :)

I wanted to enter a couple of challenges so I created a springy birthday card to add to my stash :)

The papers are from Ruby Rock-It's Arcadia stack and were attached with Score Tape. The edges were distressed with a Zutter Distress-It-All and then inked with Tim Holtz Victorian Velvet Distress Ink. Two sizes of Spellbinders Big Scalloped Circles Large were cut with papers from my stash. They were sanded with a TH sander and each layer was popped up with foam tape for dimension. The tag is a TH Tiny Tabs and Tags die. The pearl swirls are from Want 2 Scrap and I snipped and manipulated them along the side of the card. The ribbon is from May Arts and the Chalk White Seam Binding was colored with TH Spun Sugar Distress Stain. Make a Wish is a TH Remnant Rub - I am addicted to these right now...I'm rubbing them on everything :)

A Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangle die was used for the sentiments from JustRite Stamps Grand Sentiments stamp set. It was stamped with Versafine in Black Onyx.

The butterfly is a Spellbinders Wonderful Wings die. It was stamped with the coordinating stamp from the JustRite Grand Sentiment set in Victorian Velvet Distress Ink. The antennae were created with beads from my stash. The top layer was attached to the base with a Sakura Quickie Glue Pen along the center, leaving the wings unattached.

I used the Classy Cards 'n Such color palette for this card:

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. JustRite Stamps #115 - Spring Cheer

  3. DL.Art - February Linky

Wishing You Happiness

Happy Saturday!! And happy February 1st!! How can it be February already?? At least it means we are that much closer to spring :) I have a couple of cards to share with you today. I have made more cards this week than I have in like two months!! The stencil class really motivated me to find time to craft. I'm sure it won't last, but it's been fun :)

The base of this card is a Spellbinders Decorative Labels Eight die cut in heavyweight cream cardstock from The Paper Studio. The next layer is a Spellbinders Labels Eight die. The rest of the paper is from Prima's Fairy Rhymes paper stack.

The Labels 8 was cut twice and the top layer was cut in half to make the pocket for the tag. The edges were inked with Tim Holtz Walnut Distress Ink. The border along the edge is a Die-Versions Lacey Dots die. The image was fussy cut from the paper.

The tag is a TH Sizzix Tiny Tabs & Tags die. It was cut once with the Prima Paper and then in vellum. The circles are Spellbinders Beaded Cricles and Standard Circles Small dies. The stamps are from My Craft Spot's Stamping All Around Spring stamp set. The burlap ribbon is from Hobby Lobby.

The ribbon is from TH's Idea-ology Crinkle Ribbon. The tag is a Spellbinders Charmed I'm Sure die. Wishing You Happiness is from My Craft Spot's Tiny Tags 1 stamp set. The button is a Spellbinders Whimsey die.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Twine or String
  2. My Craft Spot Monday Challenge #124 - Polka Dots
  3. Little Scrap Pieces - Anything Goes
I also have one last stencil project to share with you today :)

For this card, a Crafter's Workshop Mini Cherry Blossoms stencil was inked with Versamark and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. The card was then inked with TH Squeezed Lemonade, Picked Raspberry and Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks. It was then flicked with water. The sentiment is from JustRite Stamps Grand Sentiments stamp set. Strips of tissue paper and white thread were added behind.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and for checking out all of my stencil projects this week!! Have a great weekend :)

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year's Eve, everyone!! I can't believe this is the last day in 2013!! My gosh, where did this year go?? Do you have any resolutions for the new year?? I have a card to share with you that I actually made about two months ago but haven't had a chance to post. I'm not even sure I can remember how I put this together :/ The paper is from the Glitz Sunshine in My Soul paper stack. The base is a Spellbinders Grand Scalloped Square, followed by a Grand Square.

The next two layers are Spellbinders Captivating Squares. The reason I wanted to make this card was to use the Spellbinders D-Lites Blooms 3 die...I just love these flowers!! I added foam tape between the layers for dimension. The crinkle ribbon was inked with Tim Holtz Faded Jeans Distress Ink and water.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Little Scrap Pieces - Anything Goes

Sleigh Bells Ring

Happy Christmas Eve, Eve!! Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes!! I appreciate it so much!! Are you all ready for Christmas?? It's coming, whether I'm ready or not :/ I'm sorry I've neglected my blog the last few weeks. I do have a few Christmas cards to share with you today :)

I couldn't let Christmas go by without using my favorite Sizzix 3D Flip Album die :) The base is heavyweight kraft cardstock from The Paper Studio. The rest of the papers are from My Mind's Eye.

There are the Tim Holtz Carolers again (I told you I there would be more projects to come :) All of the stamps used are from various TH stamp sets. The music is from Mini Holidays #2, the reindeer is from Mini Holidays #1 and the starburst is from Mini Holidays #4.

Joy is a TH die, cut inside a Spellbinders Labels 1 die. The tree is a TH Snow Tree die, and it was covered with Enamel Accents on the edges and Rock Candy Stickles inside.

Santa is from the Mini Holidays #1 set. The snowflakes are from TH's Holiday Joy Framelets. The banner is a Spellbiners Banner die. Believe and the sentiment are from My Craft Spot's Joy Filled Christmas set.

Here's a shot of it all folded out.

For this card, I used a Spellbinders M-Bossibilities 3D Floral Labels 4 embossing folder. Once it was embossed, the raised parts were sanded to bring out the texture. The sentiment is on a Spellbinders Labels 4 die, inked with TH Pine Needles Distress Ink. The sentiment is from TH's Mini Holidays #5 set. The crinkle ribbon was inked with Pine Needles Distress Ink. Merry Christmas and the holly leaves are from the TH Mini Holidays #4 set.

The base and layers of this card were created with Spellbinders Card Creator Basics A & B dies. The top layer was embossed with a snowflake embossing folder and sanded. The back line of trees is a TH Tree Line die. It's hard to tell, but the green paper was inked with Donna Salazar Mix'd Media ink in Jasmine to make it look like it's dusted with snow. The tall tree is a TH Snow tree die. It was inked with Jasmine and TH Walnut Distress ink on the base. The banner is a Spellbinders die, and the sentiment is from My Craft Spot's Joy Filled Christmas stamp set.

The deer is from TH's Holiday Joy Framelets. It was embossed with gold embossing powder.

Trees from TH's Reindeer Flight stamp set were stamped inside, along with the sentiment from My Craft Spot's Joy Filled Christmas.

I needed some gift card holders, so I used TH's Pocket Envelope die to create them. The paper is from My Mind's Eye. I hand cut the tree and sleigh from the paper and attached them with foam tape for dimension. The banner is a Spellbinders Ribbon Banner die, inked with Festive Berries and stamped with Merry Christmas from My Craft Spot's Joy Filled Christmas set.

I am entering the following challenges:
  1. Little Scrap Pieces - Anything Goes
  2. DL.Art - Christmas
  3. DL.Art - December Linky
  4. Sunday Funday - December Linky
  5. Just B Creative Crazy - December Linky

Merry Christmas!!

Happy Sunday!! I hope you are having a fabulous weekend!! For my friends in the USA, I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with your family :)

I have a card to share with you today, using some awesome background stamps I won from my sweet friend Jo of Jo's Scrap Shack and 3 Twenty Crafts!! Jo is having a huge sale right now, but hurry, not only are the stamps almost sold out, but the sale ends tomorrow at midnight. If you purchase two sets of stamps, you get free shipping (use code "FREESHIP). And if you like sequins, she sells them dirt cheap - $.99 a bag!! Buy three bags and get a fourth bag free (use code "BLACKFRIDAY"). I hope you will stop by her new shop, 3 Twenty Crafts, and check out all she has to offer!! You will love the stamps!!

The layers of the card were constructed with heavyweight cardstock from Canvas Corp. The base is a Spellbinders Decorative Labels Eight, followed by a Labels Eight, embossed with a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder and popped up with foam tape. The next layer is a Spellbinders Opulent Ovals, also embossed with Swiss Dots and popped up with foam tape. The top layer is also an Opulent Opals die. The stamp is from Tim Holtz Mini Holidays #5. I wanted it to look like my silhouette guy was rushing through the snow, so using Iced Spruce Distress Ink, I inked the dots background stamp from 3 Twenty Crafts Background Builders set, taping off the edges so they didn't show. The flower is a Spellbinders Poinsettia die, inked with Iced Spruce. I also inked Tim Holtz Crinkle Ribbon with Iced Spruce. The tag is a Spellbinders Charmed I'm Sure die. The sentiment is from My Craft Spot's Joy Filled Christmas stamp set that I won from my sweet friend Susie of Susie Craft Happy!!

The center shape is a Spellbinders Labels Ten die, inked with TH Victorian Velvet Distress Ink and popped up with foam tape for dimension. The shopping girl stamp is from the Close to My Heart Fashionista stamp set. She was stamped in Versafine Black Onyx. The circles were colored in with a TH Tattered Rose Distress Marker.
